Anyone interested in HTTP 3 that likes even-handed articles, Robin Marx has an excellent series on Smashing Magazine: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/author/robin-marx/

The second article is about its performance.

> Data in/out of the worker is string only[0]

I don't think this is correct. You can pass lots of types in via postMessage(), including Objects, ArrayBuffers, even a Canvas context. Some objects are transferrable as well, that is, zero copy.

As far as your point about still being stuck on the main thread, that may indeed be the case depending on the work.

Where is that setting? I'm pretty sure it asks on install, but what about after that?

> "highly available" Cloud SQL goes down every couple months for maintenance

Yep, drives me up the wall. We put a lot of work in making sure we're zero-downtime, pay for "Highly Available", and every couple of months I get the dreaded email. No explanation, nothing. Then we have to do the whole downtime dance.

If anyone from Cloud SQL is reading this, please, please stop doing this.

markdog12··on Browsers eating RAM
Yep, was thinking of the same thing when I read it. I have 2 gmail tabs in Safari, each taking over 1GB. One twitter that's about 1GB, one Slack that's over 1GB. Some of this is shared memory.

Is it that they don't realize Safari is a multi-process architecture, and they're only measuring Safari's main process?
