Other pretty cool features are:

  * Replacing bullets in list-items with Font Awesome icons.
  * Using icons as a masks for/in other icons
  * Rotating, sizing and scaling icons
  * Animating/rotating icons
  * Positiong icons
You can read a summary article to learn more about these features here [1] or you can navigate the submitted article's sidenavigation bar for links to the individual topics.

manjana··on Ask HN: What is your favorite motto?
I'm not sure of the exact definition of a motto, but I'll give it a try:

1. The Devil is in the details.

2. You never hit rock bottom, it can always get worse. Someone is always worse off than you, truly, so stop pitying yourself. Self-pity is a mean downward spiral - most people don't realize it's potential to cause havoc.

3. Nothing's ever so bad, it's good for nothing.

manjana··on The populist backlash has been a revolt against the tyranny of merit
>"There needs to be a redistribution of esteem as well as money, and more of it needs to go to the millions doing work that does not require a college degree."

I could not agree more with this statement.<

Money has to come from someone's paycheck, hence the redistribution of money mentioned.

manjana··on Ask HN: Recommendations for Good TUI Libraries (Text User Interface)?
You could check out AsciiMatics. https://github.com/peterbrittain/asciimatics

Here are some examples how it can look in action: https://github.com/peterbrittain/asciimatics/wiki

manjana··on ProtonDrive Security Model
The issue people have with Google is privacy - Google have pretty good security I think.
manjana··on ProtonDrive Security Model
What do you trust, then? You must put your trust some place I suppose?
manjana··on ProtonDrive Security Model
I had no issue exporting/importing serveral Gmail inboxes about a year ago when I made the transition.

manjana··on DOS games in the browser using Web Assembly
Wow! That is pretty cool.

You can also play NES, SNES, Genesis and Windows games by the way. Some of the games are pretty big in size, games like Nox at ~200MB., well pulled off!

manjana··on Ask HN: As a developer what are your aha moments?
Bootstrap - my one and only experience with a CSS framework. Love it, but can't compare to anything yet.

I'll properly give Bulma, Tailwind or another popular framework a go for my next project - let me know if you can recommend any other.

manjana··on Ask HN: As a developer what are your aha moments?
Trying to master non-framework CSS and realizing how dead simple styling a website can be when you are using a framework instead of trying to reinvent the wheel all over.
manjana··on Ask HN: Which websites keep status of new, upcoming or proposed TLDs?
Great, thank you!
manjana··on Noita – roguelite where every pixel is simulated
This game seems really awesome, I've had a few looks at it at Steam so far. I am a bit curious what does it mean that each and every pixel is 'simulated'? They use the statement many times, but I'm really not sure what that statement implies.
manjana··on Django-newsfeed – A news curator and newsletter subscription package for Django
This seems amazing - is anyone familiar with a similar project for Flask?
manjana··on Show HN: Linux sysadmin course, eight years on
Great work! Was hoping though that you could view the course from the landing page - have you considered moving the course to a simple static website where it could be browsed like www.domain.com/day1/ or something similar?
manjana··on Ask HN: What Happened to Larry Page?
I'm not sure whether this holds much merit in reality as it is purely speculation, but I'd strongly suspect that a great deal of modern popular conspiracy theories are designed and initially propagated by PSYOP groups to influence and control certain aspects of reality for whatever intended purpose (that's kind of the essence or purpose of a PSYOP) - like for example, preventing Bill Gates' eliminating third world poverty or whatever his goals are. Some of his philanthropic work will quite possibly have a snowball effect on a certain areas that some countries won't like which would give rise to misinformation campaigns to sabotage and hinder his work.

Fixed - thank you.
manjana··on Show HN: I published my first website – ShellMagic.xyz
Thank you for pointing that out. I'll fix that.

- I'll be making a section for deprecated stuff and move everything of that sort into one section. Good suggestion.

- I've added a bunch of new fonts to the site, just now. It's a temporary selection of fonts - but include nicer ones like Source Code Pro for code, and a sans-serif for headings and navigation bar.

- Thank you very much for mentioning that. That's a way nicer handle!

manjana··on Show HN: I published my first website – ShellMagic.xyz
I'll add a notice about this - thank you for mentioning that.
manjana··on Show HN: I published my first website – ShellMagic.xyz
Appreciated!

This is great feedback. I have removed the popup, I've had the suspicion that people may find it annoying and you and a few others have now confirmed it. Maybe I'll find some other use for it. I despise these things myself also, which is a bit funny lol. It turned into a "can I do it" rather than a "should I do it"-thing when the idea first crossed my mind..

I'll see if I can come with some non-disruptive way of adding some context to the site upon entering it.

manjana··on Show HN: I published my first website – ShellMagic.xyz
That's a great help! Thank you.

I'm about to implement some common color-themes which'll be easy to toggle (visually/color-wise it'll be like those themes you'd see in an IDE like Eclipse or Intelli-J f.e.). I expect to be finished with the feature in a week or so.

Thank you for the feedback and glad you like the content :-)

Thank you - that is an amazing resource you linked!
manjana··on Show HN: I published my first website – ShellMagic.xyz
Good idea! - Try checking back in a week or two if you're interested, and I'll properly have it setup by then.
manjana··on Show HN: I published my first website – ShellMagic.xyz
Good advice - didn't cross my mind at all. I'm working on some theming and the contrast should be suited for vision-impaired or have an option for this, in about a week or so.
