Musk has tesla stock too
mam3··on How mindfulness could make you selfish
Since when being selfish is a problem ? Anyone has a tendency to better solve a problem when it's "his problem" rather than waiting someone does it for him.
mam3··on The most vaccine-hesitant group of all? PhDs
> These procedures have a reason to exist, of course, but they do not determine any objective fact about the reality of our current knowledge about these vaccines.

It's still in phase 2 or 3. it has to be beyond 4. The reason is that indeed, theses rules were put in place because it was "assessed" that this delay was necessary to proprely evaluate thre effects of drugs, based probably on past problems. As such ou "current konwledge about these vaccines" is incomplete

mam3··on AstraZeneca Scientist Says Delta Variant Makes Herd Immunity Impossible
Like pfizer delaying the vaccine after the election ?
mam3··on The most vaccine-hesitant group of all? PhDs
But then you are walking on 50 years of ethics and clinical trial laws which are here for a reason... if it was not covid no one woukd take a vaccine that early.

> It's an entirely rational approach, if somewhat selfish.

The only selfish thing is older people who say "young people should take it to protect older people". Its like saying its selfish you dont work for me for free.

My body my choice. Vaccine yourself if you want.

mam3··on The most vaccine-hesitant group of all? PhDs
No one would take a vaccine which is still expérimental if it was not covid. Especially not the people who dont have consequence of it.

Its normal young people dont want it. They only take it because they are forced somehow (mandatory masking and other stuff).

The only debate worth it is how much you have to make it mandatory

mam3··on Netflix intensifies VPN ban and targets residential IP addresses
When is the last time you paid for a google service tho ? Its the height of millenial arrogance to think a compagny should give you a special treatment for free
mam3··on The most vaccine-hesitant group of all? PhDs
Yeah, this is why the pro-vaccine propaganda is insanely condescending: of course we (phd) know that vaccine are efficient to stop the disease, and we are not debating that. In most case we debating the right to refuse it (which is basically not the case anymore for example in france), and also the fact that for many young people, it's close to useless.

Useless in the sense that the probability of having severe forms is suuuuuper low, and that the argument of 'limiting the spread to older/weaker people' is not so convincing since on the long term covid will end up spreading to the older/weaker people anyway if themselves don't vaccinate. SO we should focus the effort on convincing older/weaker to vaccinate and leave the Phds/young.

Yeah the article makes no sense
mam3··on Apple will scan local storage photos on iPhones for child abuse images
That was not 100% a troll comment. Barely 0%. I really think apple is doing a good thing
mam3··on Apple will scan local storage photos on iPhones for child abuse images
Me not uploading my picture doesnt lead to children being abused
mam3··on Apple will scan local storage photos on iPhones for child abuse images
The only people who will complain are either pedophiles, or people who value their "privacy" over children ' life

mam3··on A Brief History of Freud's Love Affair with Cocaine
D is mdma/ecstasy. Its not that often mixed with other stuff ... super rare in europe.

Btw never do the big 3: heroin crack and meth

mam3··on A Brief History of Freud's Love Affair with Cocaine
In any electro party in any western european, ~ 25% people at least regularly take either c, d, l or k... most of us pretty reasonably.

Meanwhile an insane proportion of engineer are downright alcoolics...

"Drugs" is not a thing. Only addiction is, and in a few years, a few of them will be legalised for (rare) medicinal purposes. Especially MDMA.

Stay safe (harm reduction first) but dont be scared to experiment at all.

mam3··on Eric Clapton refuses to play venues requiring vaccines for concertgoers
> Oh, what happened to “my business, my property, my rules?” Nobody is forcing you to go to a concert.

So first if you had read the article it's the uk governement not a businesses rule. Secondly businesses and governement follow the majority opinions. It's a good thing people like Clapton voice their optinion

> You can always smell a stupid political tribal political opinion when people act like they want to die on a hill in the name of freedom, yet run the nearest ER like little babies when they get sick.

> Put your money where your mouth is. Put your name on a public list declaring you irrevocably refuse treatment if you get the virus.

Chill down keyboard warrior. The fact it's not treatable by anything else than vaccine doesn't mean it's good or even legal to coerce people into taking the vaccine, or plainly discriminate against those who don't for whatever reason (starting with pregnant women). As a matter of facts it's actually very clearly illegal in europe to do so, since the vaccines are still "experimental drugs". here's a french article with legal sources if you want the details.

mam3··on Eric Clapton refuses to play venues requiring vaccines for concertgoers
So first its not freedom of choice its the government who impose that.

Secondly at the end businesses and governments follow the majority opinion.. And for that, I support Clapton to put pressure on clubs and voice his opinion

mam3··on Eric Clapton refuses to play venues requiring vaccines for concertgoers
Good. No young people should be "required" to take the vaccine. Freedom of choice and respect of the body first.
mam3··on Watching Jeff Bezos Go to Space Was More Depressing Than Inspiring
