maitredusoi··on Bitcoin Gold hit by 51% attacks, $72K in cryptocurrency double-spent
who on earth has got Bitcoin Gold in his pocket ??? ;)
maitredusoi··on Umbra: an ACID-compliant database built for in-memory analytics speed
isn't sqlite doing the same ???
maitredusoi··on Cryptocurrencies: They Will All Die
Title should have been : in the next years to come crypto will either take the place or burst. I would be has pessimistic as the author, but if China forbid crypto selling and try to create its own, also if Benoît Cœuré want ECB to create a crypto, for me it is a good smoke for: there is something here to deal with ...

For the last point, telling that bitcoin should avoided because it can't handle more than 5 tr/s is not understanding that blockchain is all about create A TRUSTED MEDIUM TO EXCHANGE. Dev will always prefer uncorruption of data over speed when their choose a database that should scale, it is the same for money...

maitredusoi··on NeXTSTEP on the HP 712 Part 1: Installation
Xerox Alto was launched the year before I was born and to this day I have used an original NeXT Computer during 2 years ;)
maitredusoi··on The Future of PHP
Sorry, I did. I made a quick return to PHP in 2016, being so happy to try Laravel on a real big project. So ... just pure disappointment ;( ;(

It is 4 time more verbose than rails and not fully compliant. Laravel is purefect for people knowing only PHP, it is a real nightmare for rubyist. ;(

maitredusoi··on The Future of PHP
For me PHP is exactly like IE6, it completly shaped web programming as we know it, and will have a true resilience, before dying, inevitably (disclamer: I used PHP from 2000 to 2009 , then switched to rails on a daily bases).
maitredusoi··on How to write fast code in Ruby on Rails
> surprise bills from AWS

Surprise bills from AWS means it is time for refactoring ( and thus optimization time ;)

maitredusoi··on Zupiter: A Web-Based Modular Synthesizer
I think people are just too afraid too share, as they are effectively doing fun things but... really they then think that it is just crap. We are too much in a society that is telling us that if we made it in less than an hour, it can only be crap. This is one thing the the near futur of the earth must fix ;)

If sharing IS important for you, change you design in the way that it becomes the default option.

maitredusoi··on Web Development Simplified with Svelte
Svelte is a real good shot vs the angularjs (v1) I used in 2015, but still, I will stick to imba ;)
maitredusoi··on The one who kept VLC free
I am really happy of the video, so I shared it on linkedin ... The most important part for me is when you spoke about creativity and knowing the web stack in order to be a good web dev. That has to be said, even if there cuts...
maitredusoi··on Exotic Physics Phenomenon Involving Time Reversal Observed for First Time

maitredusoi··on The Most Misused SSN of All Time
You are thinking with a 2019 point of view, this was effectivly 1938, people were less aware of consequences of their actions (as history of that dark period shown accross the World ...). Also, probably at that time people thought that a real SSN would shine more than 000-00-0000, as any other number could potentially be a "real" number from an unkown person ...
maitredusoi··on Supreme Court: Suspending Parliament was unlawful, judges rule
This is just a technical point of view, as from now on the Queen has always appointed a person that has been choosen by the parliament. Perhaps with Willam, thing will change, but sorry, with QEII , I can't see her saying I appoint Corbyn even if parliament decide it is Johnson ;)
maitredusoi··on Kiss – A Linux distribution with a focus on “less is more”
You are right ! diversity is the good move, that is how life decided to grow, by diversifications. Ok, it consumes loads of time, but the result is without point of thinking. M$ did the opposite in '80, and is not quite winning nowdays... Just a question of time and experimentations ;)
maitredusoi··on Kiss – A Linux distribution with a focus on “less is more”
It is because they are using a mathematical path. A function that is tending to +infinite, next step is to tend to -infinite. Think of a path shaped as a circle, then of its cosinus variation, then you understand... ;)
maitredusoi··on Colorado Town Offers 1 Gbps for $60 After Years of Battling Comcast
I agree that I don't want to enter in a "pissing contest" , but as I am a programmer I most work from home, so even if gas is really twice the price in France, I'd rather prefer a descend internet speed in a my full inclusive box (so I don't need an Apple TV) in my contryside (away by 50 km from the next big city of Nantes), for a low price than a gas at half price ;) ;) ;) ;)
maitredusoi··on Colorado Town Offers 1 Gbps for $60 After Years of Battling Comcast
For 60$ you have a Freebox delta in France (sorry only in French https://www.free.fr/freebox/freebox-delta/ ) . It includes 10 Gbps (via fiber cable) + a sound system ( from Devialet, an equivalent to Bose system) + Alexa on the remote controller + 500 Go HDD for video recording or music playback + 200 (international) TV channels + Netflix SD , all inclusive ?!

For the little story, french people said 60 $ for all of this Freebox delta was sooooo expensive. After reading the Colorado Town news, I stay amused.

maitredusoi··on Shopify Overtakes eBay as Second Biggest Shopping Site After Amazon

maitredusoi··on 94k Bitcoin (1B USD) transferred from unknown wallet to unknown wallet
BTCP can be a good example of BTC + Zcash like (ZCL) , but it hasn't recovered yet from ashes ;)
maitredusoi··on 94k Bitcoin (1B USD) transferred from unknown wallet to unknown wallet
BTc is not anonymous but pseudonymous from the start (e.i. the white paper)
maitredusoi··on Parallelism in Crystal
Until crystal get a REPL I would stick to ruby / rails for POC and MVP, then scaling problem "could" arose, so translate it to amber or lucky (Web Framework in crystal) could solve the issue. About Type and Casting Nil, gem like sorbet should be a good replacement in ruby
maitredusoi··on Full Body Teleportation System

maitredusoi··on The growing science of memory manipulation
Sorry guys this is absolutly not new!!!!

More than 30+ years of psychology research proved that the brain reconstruct any memories as it needed to. One sample amongs thhousands : https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/acp.1390

There are 83,000 more researches on the subject https://scholar.google.fr/scholar?q=memories+creation+photos... So prepare to be scare if you think you need it, as there is nothing more volatile than human memmories (including yours ;)

maitredusoi··on Spatial Interfaces
I am not zoom, but I will try to fix it ! Please tell us all your worries about it
maitredusoi··on Spatial Interfaces
I hope it to be the next move in the industry, transforming text webpage into 2D RPG-like interface.

Perhaps that is why webassembly as been create for, to leap forward helping the emerge of new ( 2.5D) interface.

If not, then A13 iphone 11 will only help the mega bytes of poor dev reactjs interface sur-comsumming giga watt of power for no reason, and brutalism will then succeed ;) ;)

maitredusoi··on Spatial Interfaces
;) ;) ;)
maitredusoi··on Spatial Interfaces
This where you are wrog and didn't read the author proposition. In the article the presented Sococo products is in 2D, and if you refers at actual usage, like slack, you stay in a 1D (list) of users, so form me (rare) products like sococo are goind in the good direction by adding 1D. 3D is perharps one too far goal, but in the mean time we should explore 2D as much as we can and radically change the ay e make web app, instead of trying to (pale) copy the (master) slack.
maitredusoi··on Spatial Interfaces
Thx very much!! You just puts words on my theorical researches upon making new kind of interaction in our constraint SaaS admin world (from now on Bootcamp CSS like UX is the believed limit).

From my point on view, using classical old school RPG-game type interface will be one of the possible next move ;)
