Yep. Honestly can't name a single major new smartphone feature that I would consider a dealbreaker that wasn't available 10 years ago.
The last things that made me excited about a new phone was contactless payments and Android auto, but both are pretty old now.
Now it's just a slightly different ui and maybe a bit better camera when I got a new phone.
At 7c/GB that would be over 10500$ just for the traffic alone, and probably about the same for the processing power.
Pretty sure over these years AWS has experienced a lot more issues overall.
I know it's not mainstream to use NetBeans these days, but I don't care, I'm just used to it and it gets the job done. Maybe I'm just getting old.
There's nothing really special about Debian as well, it could as well be Ubuntu, Mint or anything else that's plug n play. I'm just used to Debian, and it comes with less junk I don't need installed by default.
Chrome, git, ssh, docker, netbeans
Most genuine discussions have moved from open, publicly accessible web to places inaccessible to search engines and general public. Smaller niche forums, blogs and personal websites with no financial incentive have died out. People have moved to Facebook, Discord, Whatsapp, Instagram, Slack, Twitter and other places behind logins. Online newspapers and portals are increasingly using paywalls. Most of the genuine human interactions and quality content is not indexable anymore. Instead we have a million affiliate marketers fighting for the top positions in search results with every possible seo trick.
Reddit is one of the last places with huge amounts of publicly accessible online discussions.
Also VR as some kind of social networking replacement seems unlikely to me because huge par of the time people spend on social networks is not while sitting at home dedicating time to this activity. Most people are not going to lug around VR headset everywhere they go.
I don't even feel the need to upgrade. It's in ideal condition, I love the keyboard and form factor, and for my daily tasks mostly involving terminal, text editor and web browser if feels snappier than many modern machines I have worked with.
I bought a new Dell laptop for my wife a year ago, and while the CPU and GPU are obviously way more capable for tasks like running games or encoding video, overall it just feels slower. It takes longer to boot, launch programs, even just switching between windows has some small delay. It probably would be quicker if I installed the same OS, but still - I feel better user experience from a decade old ThinkPad than new $1000+ machine out of box.
Any hash can match virtually unlimited number of different turd images.
And even if you trust the hash function to never be broken or brute forced with future technology, it can only verify the image, not prevent it from being deleted or altered, rendering the NFT broken and useless. Verifiably broken and useless, but still...
In other words - increases energy prices for everyone.
Even if 5 of them would go down at the same time, the site would still work as intended (thought probably couldn't handle peak load with less than 3 or 4). If one of or two are down, nothing happens.
Also completely reinstalling a server takes around an hour.
Couple of positions up or down in google results for somewhat popular and valuable keywords can mean the difference in thousands of dollars per day of ad or affiliate revenue. I suspect it would get pretty wild if google launched something like this. There already are black-hat seo methods and services, but something so simple and direct would turn it up to 11.
