maccio92··on Not enough jobs for science graduates challenges STEM hype
If they want jobs as a developer there are plenty. If they see NEETs that just play video games all day it's probably their own lifestyle choices that are at fault
maccio92··on Pengwin – A Linux Distro Optimized for WSL Based on Debian
I'm not sure if/what they changed in the distribution itself, but tooling optimizations are in the list:

* Pengwin includes wslu, a set of useful open-source utilities for interacting between WSL and Windows 10

* Manage your Microsoft Windows and Azure deployments with PowerShell and azure-cli, command line tools for Azure.

* Enable/disable Windows Explorer shell integration.

* Configure experimental GUI settings, including a Windows 10 theme for your Linux applications, HiDPI support and international input methods.

* Create a secure bridge to Docker running on Windows.

* Support for many Linux graphical applications with no need to configure display or libGL in Pengwin. (Requires a Windows-based X server, such as X410.)

* Pengwin provides faster patching for WSL-specific bugs than any upstream Linux distro available on WSL.

I always have difficulties with drivers on linux. Never on Windows. Until they fix that I cannot use anything other than windows as my base system. I don't care if linux handles things slightly better
maccio92··on Julian Assange Deserves First Amendment Protection
I would say a more accurate distinction is breaking into someone's home vs trying to break into a military base. In the first case you're likely to get arrested, in the second they'll probably shoot first and ask questions later

maccio92··on Motel 6 to Pay $12M after Improperly Giving Guest Lists to ICE
It is done because an overwhelming majority of those entering the country illegal are hispanic. There isn't much more to it than that. It's not racism just because they happen to be the race doing it. If it were any other race it would be treated the exact same way.
maccio92··on Motel 6 to Pay $12M after Improperly Giving Guest Lists to ICE
It's in the damn name. Immigration enforcement. We have a legal immigration process in this country, many try to come here illegally. Without a border, you have no country.

If you walk into my house, or request entry, I can treat you however I like. It's my house, my property. If you don't like it go somewhere else. We are all individuals. If he wants to be angry and make personal insults then people can choose not to interact with him or the things he works on. It should go no further than that.
