mabynogy··on Ask HN: What are your favourite websites that display a lot of data / tables?
I work on a tool for displaying Baserow tables (https://mabynogy.org/?n=463) in the front end.
mabynogy··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (Sept 2023)
I'm working on an Unix community. It's a shared server. People can host what they need and discover the work of the others.

mabynogy··on Register for a free SSH account
It's the beginning of a Unix users community. You get an SSH account with sudo. The goal is to make easier to build common projects shared on the same machine.
mabynogy··on TempleOS Demo V800 2012/02/28
From the torrent file of Terry A. Davis work (https://archive.org/download/TerryADavis_TempleOS_Archive/to...).
mabynogy··on Ask HN: Where do you discuss computer related stuff now?
I'm hanging with other programmers at #dailyprog. It's a channel on irc.rizon.net (https://dailyprog.org/members/).

IRC: https://dailybuild.org/chat.html (#dailybuild on rizon.net)
mabynogy··on Ask HN: What is your Linux setup look like as developer?
Debian stable and Gnome. Geany as text editor and I use sshfs to access remotely the servers.
mabynogy··on Ask HN: Please help me, I'm a bad developer
Do you like programming? If you can say yes continue. You probably struggle with similar problems we all have. It's not particularly your fault.
mabynogy··on Billionaire Marc Benioff donates $30M to research homelessness
Yeah. You describe that well. It is a very difficult problem.
mabynogy··on Billionaire Marc Benioff donates $30M to research homelessness
I does not but it's easier to fix.

For me it's a realestate related problem. There is not enough offer. We should increase the offer with very cheap houses.

mabynogy··on Billionaire Marc Benioff donates $30M to research homelessness
It's 4981 years of hotel here (16.5€/night). There is no secret to discover in homelessness. They have housing and/or drug and/or mental disorder problem. They need to stop using drug, a good psy with a working treatment and a house. House is the simpler to fix. Let's start with that.
mabynogy··on Ask HN: How do you find meaning in life?
It's reproduction because you exist. We are the goal of life of our parents.

mabynogy··on Sqlite: Code Of Conduct
We've adopted the Saint Benedict rule too: http://dailyprog.org/rule/

We will adopt similar codes from different traditions of the world.

mabynogy··on Show HN: How to start a business in France
Congrats for the successful Show HN maelito.

If you're located near Paris, we are starting a new meetup about programming and startups. The first drink will be held the 6 november near Bastille (where the French Revolution started):

http://meetup.com/dailyprog/events/tmsrjqyxpbjb

I hope some people from Beta Gouv will come. I do my best to promote that new community (especially towards VCs).

Feedbacks and insights are welcome :-)

mabynogy··on Lobste.rs
Yeah I can invite you. You can reach me here under the same nick: http://dailyprog.org/chat/
mabynogy··on IRC turns thirty
IRC is simple and efficient. It's a real pleasure for me to use it daily to talk to my fellow programmers. Yeah we don't have images but we have links and a pastebin (https://github.com/solusipse/fiche) to replace that.

I'm on #dailyprog at irc.rizon.net (https://dailyprog.org/). It's an irc-based programming community. We also share a server with ssh access.

We do small programming projects together. At the moment the idea is to make an exhausive list of all existing IRC servers with massscan and nmap (the output of the running massscan instance: https://dailyprog.org/~mabynogy/irc-servers.txt).

mabynogy··on Why No HTTPS?
Yes indeed but I rarely do that because the problem still remains.
mabynogy··on Why No HTTPS?
OK Daniel for the flamewar but I have been correct. I only replied. Some people are aggressive. I just said them they are and how they are. They don't like that et it continues endlessly. It's not possible to be a gentleman in those cases.
mabynogy··on Bad at whiteboard puzzles? You can still get a programming job
Coopting is the best alternative to any recruitment process. Best hiring are made like that. The cost is minimal. I know a bunch of people I can recommend. Just ask me (people in C++,JS,Go,CL and Python).
mabynogy··on Why No HTTPS?
You prove you're the troll again.
mabynogy··on Why No HTTPS?
It's an emotional response.

IMO you just wanna be loyal to the group you think you belong to (you said "we"). I don't do that. I decide for myself only.

You don't admit your part. You just just justify your feelings. If you feel threatened, it's your problem. Not mine.

mabynogy··on Ask HN: What to do about dogma in a company culture?
Start a project in your free time inside your office hours to show them they are wrong.
mabynogy··on Why No HTTPS?
Yes you are. Look at your messages and mines. You're the troll. You use "?" and upper case a lot. I don't. You always try to change subject instead of agreeing on the problem. It's a lack of integrity.

You feel threatened because you invested time in those tools. It's not rational. It's an emotional reaction.

mabynogy··on Why No HTTPS?
Again. Fallacies and aggressiveness.

You're talking about who and not what because the "what" is proven to be unbreakable. You're dishonest.

mabynogy··on AI is the new space race, and the US needs a “Sputnik moment”
No. The hype is already vanishing. The new space race is the current new space race.
mabynogy··on Ask HN: How to help with time management and project management challenges
Let him in peace. Give him low priority tasks. You'll feel better.
mabynogy··on Ask HN: Who has had a great Engineering manager?
No most managers are bad. Some says less skilled people are promoted because they are useless at their previous position.

My advice is to take the leadership as soon as you can. Don't fear the responsibilities. Better be in charge than have an average incompetent manager.
