Conveniently that's also a market where Apple and Google have enough control over the software side to make things work with a new, weird memory scheme (RAM slower than permanent storage, but still needed because of durability).
In yaml, you have the whole application logic in one ”function”. Fine for small things, problematic when it grows.
I'm somewhat furious at Apple for having ads for their other shows before showing me what I've selected to watch on Apple TV+. Is there any way to disable that?
I have fond(?) memories of playing Doom on a 386 with a monochrome passive TFT screen.
I think that image quality could be improved by using a suitable dithering algorithm, the current logic seems a bit simplistic. Could be a nice summer project for my highschooler…
CLASSPATH=(string join ':' (find . | grep jar | grep lwjgl)) java -XstartOnFirstThread -Xmx4G -jar setris-desktop-1.0-SNAPSHOT-jar-with-dependencies.jar
(fish instead of bash; the "string join" part takes all the jar paths and joins them on a single line with colon separators)Same output and behavior, though.
Also tried with an older JDK (version 17), but that fails to even open a window.

A window is opened, looks like the title screen with the text "press A". But nothing happens when I press keys, A or others.Maybe related to the LWJGL warning?
I'm sure this isn't true. We've built communities using email, IRC, MUDs and web forums with more lasting power than any AAA game.
The main problem for Meta et al is that they want to sell ads (or something) to companies, and to do that they created a virtual world. Why would anyone want to take part in a world like that? If you want to build a world, base it on the notion that most people want to connect with others who are like themselves and people they look up to, and they want to "own" their place in the world.
We don't want to be passive spectators in a dead, plastic world created by megacorps.
It's a bit funny that the entire Western economy with just-in-time-everything is indistinguishable from an act of sabotage.
You are correct, and it's basically impossible for a Swedish citizen to be dirt poor - we have enough safety nets to prevent it.
Still, we have our share of people living in the streets; mostly due to poorly thought through mental illness reforms and drugs. And I bet at least some illegal immigrants have it pretty rough as well.
It's been pretty easy to work with, compared to "normal" embedded work with C that in my experience is a lot of tedious work to learn and set up before you get some momentum and can start focusing on the actual application.
VR is for replacing reality, AR is for putting (useful?) digital things on top of the real world.
