m4r35n357··on Finland to abandon school subjects in favour of phenomenon-based learning (2016)
We used to understand how to educate. The hippies broke all that. Education is about learning skills, not "having fun".
m4r35n357··on US Navy Patent Antigravity Device
1. It would need to be a _very_ stupid adversary.
m4r35n357··on Re: Integrating "safe" languages into OpenBSD? (2017)
Unfortunate date.
m4r35n357··on Re: Integrating "safe" languages into OpenBSD? (2017)
I think he was very polite.
m4r35n357··on Portable Ultrasound Proves a Potent Weapon in the Fight Against Covid-19
I don't think dying patients love bugs, either.
m4r35n357··on Police Are Still Citing the Homeless, Despite CDC and Council Guidance
So are the police themselves not breaking the law here?
m4r35n357··on The Coming Mental Health Crisis as Remote Working Surges
I suspect any mental health issues are far more likely to do with the virus, and lockdown.
m4r35n357··on YAML: Probably not so great after all (2019)
For a scripting language, how about the language itself?
m4r35n357··on How to Avoid the Assignment Statement (2010)
Sometimes this is not possible or desirable. Libraries like MPFR pretty much demand that you pre-allocate and re-use variables. Of course in this case despite the mutation there is no assignment statement, as variables are set using output parameters ;)
m4r35n357··on Convert Markdown to a Mind Map
Pasted markdown into text area, nothing happened. No button to activate.
m4r35n357··on Uber wants to redefine employment, labor groups are fighting back
Piece work bad.
m4r35n357··on Zoom sued for overstating, not disclosing privacy, security flaws
Yeah right, oops
m4r35n357··on Git commands to know just after you get the basics
and yet is one of the most useful commands for fixing mistakes made by beginners . . .
m4r35n357··on Physics Travel Guide – Physics concepts explained in three levels of difficulty
That is how I found them, estranged from the other "theories" for some reason.
m4r35n357··on Physics Travel Guide – Physics concepts explained in three levels of difficulty
No Special or General Relativity - WTF?

OK found them hidden away under "models" - WTF again?

m4r35n357··on Vim rendered on a cube for no reason
https://github.com/paranim/paravim - A Vim-based editor for Nim https://sekao.net/paravim/nim/

https://github.com/paranim/pvim - A Vim-based editor for Nim https://sekao.net/paravim/nim/

So what the fuck is what? paranim? paravim? pvim?

m4r35n357··on Twitter removes two Bolsonaro tweets questioning virus quarantine
I think that line has been blurred out of existence.
m4r35n357··on The NHS is looking for up to 250k volunteers
I think you mean since Thatcher.
m4r35n357··on Markdown is an excellent choice for documentation
I used to just make text files, now I use markdown. Blame GitHub ;)
m4r35n357··on Show HN: Posce, a note-taking toolkit for your command-line
If someone calls it a "command line" I usually ignore them. If they call it a "shell" I am more inclined to take note . . .
m4r35n357··on "Piss Prophets" and the Wheel of Urine (2019)
Icky!
m4r35n357··on Bashible: An Ansible-inspired deployment/automation tool written in Bash DSL
dash is 10% of the size of bash. You don't need the interactive features when running shell scripts, and the few "extra" features are pretty crap anyway (arrays? yeah right).
m4r35n357··on A World Without Strings Is Chaos
Physicists will be disappointed ;)
m4r35n357··on A lecture on differential equations using GNU TeXmacs [video]
This is slow going, but informative and topical. The differential equations in question are to do with propagation of infectious diseases.

[EDIT] I posted too soon! Just the first two out of three examples are about disease.

m4r35n357··on Esper’s dark vision for US-China conflict makes war more likely
Who will be the first to attempt to invade a virus-riddled country I wonder . . .
m4r35n357··on Julia 1.4
Not too surprising. Java was _designed_ by ex Unix engineers at a time that the word "engineer" meant something. Now we have the cloud/web stack and _Javascript_.

The bar was low enough for Julia to sound good at the start, but it gives the impression of being "designed" "on-the-fly".

m4r35n357··on Math Symbols Explained with Python
TFA doesn't even mention what it is _really_ using (numpy), virtually none of this is pure Python.
m4r35n357··on Illustrated Jq Tutorial
I think that done deliberately to emphasise the pipelining aspect, redirection would visually obscure the main principle of the article.
m4r35n357··on Billionaire bunkers: How the 1% are preparing for the apocalypse (2019)
Send the concrete mixers round ;)
m4r35n357··on I Peeked into My Node_Modules Directory
Yeah, you want to watch out for those "rouge" developers!
