It took our team 5 man-years (1 year of time) to upgrade from Laravel 4 to 5...
On the other hand, in 99.99% of web applications you do not need self baked concurrency. Instead use a queue system which handles this. I've used this with 20 million background jobs per day without hassles, it scales very well horizontally und vertically.

First company with 23, sold with 33.
Second + third company founded with 36, sold at 46.
I was the software engineer in the founders team, built alot by myself, even in the last years with a tech department of 30 people.
After doing nothing for 1.5 years, I am back with a new startup, being the only developer. Because I love it, and I am good at it!
It's my passion...
It was possible to connect them via a serial cable to a linux machine and receive/send SMS.
Used that to offer a horse betting service: people could bet on horses via complex SMS syntax. It worked, but never made enough money :)

Much better is a well thought of error handling. This shows exactly when and where something went wrong. If your error handler supports it, even context information like all the variables of the current stack is reported.
Add managable background jobs to the recipe which you can restart after fixing the code...
This helps in 99.99% of all cases.
- create a group and add 1 person
- remove that person
- share whatever you like with yourself via WhatsApp web :)
- track your food
- track your Sports
- track your Habits
- track your whatever :)

One solution is the outbox pattern:

Every approach has its pros and cons.
In my current company we started with HTML and embedded JavaScript at the bottom and Styles at the top. Everything in one file, very easy to find and understand.
It was "a little bit" slower. Pagespeed Insights didn't like it.
Now we are "modern" with CSS and JS in a build process. And nobody knows which file to look at...
My new Projects will start with HTML first, again.
My credibility: 45 years, commercial web programming >25 years, 3 successful web companies founded as CTO
Don't forget the second step, otherwise your nightmares will haunt you...
My small site https://link2tv.com/ has a pagespeed score of 100 by Intention. I tried to build a minimal page without any external dependencies.
BUT it looks like it looks... What would you recommend to make it look nicer and keep the score of 100 at the same time?
Thanks Marcel

- 9 digits are even easier to remember with your brain, bc you need it only for some seconds
- no ads, no tracking
- data friendly
vs pastebin
- UI is much simpler
- private by default
