lupimiguel··on Netdata Paid Subscriptions
Hi Everyone! We’re thrilled to announce the release of our Netdata Paid Subscriptions as of Wednesday, 22nd of February 2023. But for those who would not yet want to upgrade, fear not, as Netdata offers the Community plan which will remain free, forever.

The new paid subscriptions provide additional features and capabilities for users and businesses that need tighter and customizable integration of the monitoring solution to their processes. In addition to our free COMMUNITY plan we have two other plans to choose from: PRO and BUSINESS.

The new subscriptions will expand the Role Based Access model, allowing users and businesses to have finer grained control over who has access to what part of the infrastructure and how.

You can choose the subscription that best fits your needs from the Plan & Billing section within the Space Settings. More details can be found on the Pricing Page at https://www.netdata.cloud/pricing/.

Note: All existing spaces will automatically be kept on, what we call, the Early Bird plan, so you can seamlessly continue monitoring and troubleshooting your infrastructure as you are doing today!

Thank you very much and have a nice day! Happy monitoring!

lupimiguel··on Ask HN: Anyone else receiving unsolicited Datadog marketing spam?
Comparative to DD, Netdata doesn't have logs and traces (yet), but metrics are the best monitoring fidelity in the market. And any sales emails are hidden in the middle of all those alerts notifications, so you're good.
lupimiguel··on Explaining modern server monitoring stacks for self-hosting
I find it very difficult to understand how "modern server monitoring" requires 6 or 7 components, when you can just deploy netdata on all your nodes with a 1-line installer and get way higher fidelity monitoring.
lupimiguel··on Ask HN: How much should a startup expect to spend on DataDog?
This is the way.
lupimiguel··on Open Source Alternative To
The Netdata Agent is open source and you can self host your whole setup if you want. If you don't like the work, or don't know how to put it up yourself, and want to run multiple nodes, setup parent-child relations for your whole infra you can do it with Netdata Cloud (closed source). But even still, it only collects metrics, there's no actions or other data besides metadata being collected. What exactly is bait-and-switch with this model?
lupimiguel··on The love that went into the netdata release notes
The team does a great effort in putting these together, so happy someone notices the detail that goes into documentation, thanks!
