lowlevel··on Claude Tag
nailed it.
lowlevel··on Pac-Man, but you're the ghost
I had this idea a very long time ago.. well before AI... so it was fun to see. Thanks... too easy tho.
lowlevel··on 2026 is the year you stop reading code
Well, stop reading AI generated code maybe ;)
lowlevel··on Show HN: Clocksimulator.com – A minimalist, distraction-free analog clock
I laughed, but then I saw the l. Nice job though...
lowlevel··on Microsoft Office renamed to “Microsoft 365 Copilot app”
Maybe just so they can count office usage as Copilot usage.
lowlevel··on Investors expect AI use to soar. That's not happening
Over and over again, we see there is no one willing to call a spade a spade.
lowlevel··on Apple nears $1B Google deal for custom Gemini model to power Siri
... and has widely been regarded as a bad move.
lowlevel··on Bank of England flags risk of 'sudden correction' in tech stocks inflated by AI
…about time the bullshit walks.
lowlevel··on No_color: Disabling ANSI color output by default
I have been disabling colour for 30 years… and it’s always a pain in the butt. Glad to see this acknowledged at least.
lowlevel··on Rivian CEO Doubles Down on Decision to Not Offer Apple CarPlay
I’ve had four cars with air play/android auto now… never even tried it,
lowlevel··on Samsung confirms it will begin showing you advertisements on refrigerator screen
Samsung doesn't make anything good in the way of appliances anyway... so, pretty easy to avoid this bs.
lowlevel··on Volkswagen reintroducing physical controls for vital functions
I had one blow up on me on the highway... but I can't really give it up...
lowlevel··on Volkswagen reintroducing physical controls for vital functions
This is happening on other cars with electronic door handles too... not just Tesla.
lowlevel··on Volkswagen reintroducing physical controls for vital functions
I figued this was coming when I paid more for the outgoing 2020 GTI instead of the 2021.. but I didn't think it would take 5 years. Nice to see them acknowledge that they made a mistake.
lowlevel··on Most IT companies fail to serve security.txt for RFC 9116 in 2025
Yeah, you will get all kinds of email claiming your insert nonsense tech buzzwords you don’t even have are open to vulnerabilities that don’t apply or exist and they will cc your boss looking for a bogus payday.
lowlevel··on $1.5B Bybit Hack – How the biggest hack in history happened
It was designed to explicitly avoid recourse. What you want is the traditional banking system, with COBOL and oversight.
lowlevel··on Did Reddit just close old.reddit.com?
I for one don’t blame you for panic posting … so much is turning to shit these days…
lowlevel··on HP Acquires Humane's AI Software
well, now you KNOW ai is worthless.
lowlevel··on Elon Musk's DOGE team may need a crash course in COBOL
No need to check. It isn't.
lowlevel··on SoftBank Is Betting Billions That OpenAI's Agents Will Automate Work
This made me smile but I was thinking more along the lines of honour, conscientiousness, consideration, truth, knowing with conviction... common sense/etc. There are areas where this stuff is not appropriate but there is an unwillingness to hear that.
lowlevel··on The demise of software engineers due to AI is greatly exaggerated
I watched one of the new hires burn 8 hours in chatGPT trying to make excel do something that took me five minutes. Not worried for anything but the economy and the environment.
lowlevel··on "Seen a few folks astonished by my lack of support for ChatGPT and similar"
It’s actually Auto Incorrect.
lowlevel··on Jeep Introduces Pop-Up Ads That Appear Every Time You Stop
I don't think distracting drivers with ads in their jeep even when stopped is safe or even acceptable...
lowlevel··on Ask HN: Are AI dev tools lowering the barrier to entry for creating software?
I find them pretty good at helping you learn about various libraries or functions and how to apply them, but you still have to have some idea what you're trying to do and how to approach it or it will lead you down a frustrating and hopeless path. So, not yet...
lowlevel··on SoftBank Is Betting Billions That OpenAI's Agents Will Automate Work
To those of us that use and understand this technology, it's laughable to think that AI can replace an actual human, but I've seen enough people unable to detect obviously reckless AI recommendations floated to leadership that I'm afraid of the near future.
lowlevel··on AI haters build tarpits to trap and trick AI scrapers that ignore robots.txt
Yeah, I think the title of this post and the article are a little tilted… we have every right to say no or not cooperate with something we don’t believe in.
lowlevel··on Microsoft Probing If DeepSeek-Linked Group Improperly Obtained OpenAI Data
Yeah… Gonna file this under Who cares or Good for them….
lowlevel··on LinkedIn removes accounts of AI 'co-workers' looking for jobs
Yeah.. I think LinkedIn did the right thing here. I’m seeing reckless ai generated shit recommendations or ideas over and over making their way to leadership that completely discount any consideration of important factors that keep businesses viable… so far the old guard are wise enough to say no… so you will see more and more of it force fed.
lowlevel··on Microsoft employees are doubtful of AI's capabilities and company's AI bet
So far I haven't seen any rational or critical thinking in this area. So, it's nice to see a little glimmer of hope here, that someone might at least say 'wtf are we doing?' The power consumption of these useless data centres is slap in the face to all of us with efficient cars, houses full of shitty LED lightbulbs, and low flush toilets. We shouldn't let them burn the planet to insert automatically incorrect text, fucked up faces and extra fingers.
lowlevel··on We're ending our Samsung collaboration
At least you didn't have to replace all your hardwood flooring like my neighbour 2 days after his shiny new Samsung washer and dryer were installed.
