Yes, they were stock constrained for many months.. infact, I tried to buy one 3 months ago, and they didn't have any in the store. I think they just didn't want to make them...
Also went from large phone to SE... I can't stand the power button on the side. I can't stand the rounded edges. I can't stand the bending phones (5 now)... and yea, they're all just too big for my hands. iOS 11 has also been a complete nightmare. Dead batteries, hot/slow phone, crashing, text messages have been out of order for over a year. Cost was not a factor. I'm now on my 4th iphone in 6 months due to hardware and software failues, and manufacturing issues. The warranty experience has also gone down hill.. they keep telling me they have to ship my phone away and give me a loaner... only to call me back a day later saying 'uh we have to give you a new phone' ... in the past, they would just give you the new phone while you were there the first damn time and thats really something that has changed for the worse. I managed to get a new SE w/iOS 10.x.x out of them a couple weeks ago... so I'm hoping I'm good for a couple years as long as I don't accidentally update it. It's looking like the iPhone SE will be my last apple product... ever.
I feel we're kind of going into a dark age... Apple's software and hardware is suffering from major design flaws, and Microsoft is trying to be more like Apple... linux on the desktop is becoming less laughable with each os update or product refresh...
I just want to say that I really enjoyed this particular episode and thought Alex did an amazing job of figuring out what was going on. Where ever there is a system tied to payments there will be someone trying to game the system for profit.
I guess if you're just trying to show interfaces and not every language this is ok... but if you're trying to show every languages interface there are tonnes missing. Here are a few I used.
HP Basic (~1974-1980ish)
Autolisp (~1986-1995)
Turing (~1989-2000)
HP ZBook Studio G3 - Windows 7. Wonderful as long as you never attach a thunderbolt dock. Probably the closest thing to a MPB they make. (I manage a fleet of 50 of them... complete shit show for 9 months.)
Yeah, I encounter this closed-minded opinion all the time... some of us just can’t live with a ‘might not work on Tuesday’ computer. I’ve purchased over 200 laptops with Windows 7 downgrade this year. I throw the windows 10 discs right in the trash. I imagine I am not alone.
My understanding was you couldn’t block the updates on windows 10. Looks like in creators update, they offered ability to block updates/and this has been ignored. As far as forcing updates, it’s kind of a double edged sword... noble to protect the masses, but honestly it’s been a terrible experience. We had a small ‘pilot’ team give it a try for a length of time. It seemed almost every time the updates install, we’re dealing with failed network drivers, no displays, blue screens and the odd boot failure. Not very good for a professional services staff under tight client deadlines. We’re not upgrading to Windows 10 at this time.
Love the video ad but its pretty hard for me to consider buying one of these. I want on site repair/replacement... not 'user serviceable' try to fix it yourself... my last three HP laptops were all over $2500 and all needed on-site service at some point.
