louis-lau··on Show HN: Hatchet – Extracts unique unsubscribe links from mailing lists in Gmail
That would be a great addition! Why this was only for gmail was my first question.
louis-lau··on Lazydocker: The lazier way to manage everything Docker
You would have to ask the folks behind docker-compose.
louis-lau··on AppFlowy: an open-source alternative to Notion
While the README doesn't mention it, there are compiled releases on github.
louis-lau··on AppFlowy: an open-source alternative to Notion
Unfortunately a desktop note taking app without any multi-user support does not make a notion alternative. I understand it is aiming to be that in the future, but calling it one now seems odd.

It does not support slash commands.

louis-lau··on The open calendar, task and note space is a mess
I'm using the built in calendar application on windows. It's hidden under a hacky workaround, but it has caldav support. You have to add an icloud account, and then edit the server address in the settings afterwards.

Has worked flawlessly after that, and I like the integration with other parts of windows.

Nylas did, yeah. Mailspring stores all email locally. Recently the requirement to sign in with a mailspring ID was removed entirely.
louis-lau··on Show HN: Exatorrent – Self-hostable Torrent client written in Go
Correct. At least one side must have an open port. So if that's you you can peer with everyone instead of only people with open ports.
louis-lau··on Ask HN: Companies of one, what is your tech stack?
Nice service!

You may want to hire a native English speaker to check the text on your website though, it's full of errors and odd wording.

louis-lau··on Gmail is opening and caching URLs within emails without user intervention (2019)
Forms are not supported in all major clients.
louis-lau··on Ask HN: As a solo founder, what are the reasons not to use Docker?
You'd either run multiple instances of your app with an http load balancer in front, or make use of nodejs clustering: https://nodejs.org/api/cluster.html
louis-lau··on Migadu – No-nonsense multi-domain email at a flat price
This isn't true. MXroute mostly uses Hetzner in Germany. But there no guarantee to server location.
louis-lau··on Magic Wormhole: Get things from one computer to another, safely
The problem with email attachments is that they're stored on the recipients inbox forever unless the message is specifically deleted. If the attachment limit is very large, you could fill up someone's inbox with a couple of messages.

No host in their right mind would accept such large messages.

louis-lau··on JavaScript for Shell Scripting
To be fair, the same goes for javascript.
louis-lau··on Truly unified inbox – BlackBerry got it right and nobody has since
That still tells the spammer you opened the email. I also doubt they do so for third party email accounts, which can also be used in the gmail app.
louis-lau··on Chrome’s address bar will use https:// by default
Did you read the blog post? It will now use http if https fails. So http only sites will still work for this.
louis-lau··on Chrome’s address bar will use https:// by default
If https fails it will go back to http. There's no security advantage here. HSTS is still needed.
louis-lau··on Chrome’s address bar will use https:// by default
It's mentioned in the blog post, the link to which you're commenting on.
louis-lau··on Terraria on Stadia cancelled after developer's Google account gets locked
While data related to a company doesn't fall under GDPR, the data of the person(s) in that company does.
louis-lau··on Show HN: Beeper – All Your Chats in One App
Ferdi is a web browser that's oriented on messaging. This is something completely different.
louis-lau··on Show HN: Beeper – All Your Chats in One App
A nice looking cross platform email client doesn't have a lot to do with this concept IMO.

I personally also don't see why you couldn't use different clients on different platforms. They can all link to your email account I the same way.

louis-lau··on Show HN: Beeper – All Your Chats in One App
The best selling point is federation if you ask me.

I prefer matrix, but it doesn't help me if the people I want to talk to don't. Oh, look at this! A project which bridges the clients others use to a client I would like to use!

louis-lau··on Show HN: Beeper – All Your Chats in One App
No, not at all.
louis-lau··on Show HN: Beeper – All Your Chats in One App
You read that wrong.

Available on MacOS, Windows, Linux.

iOS and Android via Element.

So they made a desktop client.

louis-lau··on That's not how 2FA works
But the tweets this article was written in response to, weren't.
louis-lau··on Show HN: Candymail – Email Automation for Node.js
I don't understand. Would it not be easiest to use smtp so you could use any provider? There's a reason we have open protocols.
