If there is ever a campaign where people smash these, I’m in.

Driving around a shopping strip while the damn things flash and change is awful. It’s distracting too, and seems likely to cause crashes.

I’d be ducking away from an issue that had just got someone fired.

Tangent: The irony in Microsoft making a product called ‘Teams’. It works about as well as their teamwork.

I’ve wondered about this. Does it shake a lot less when it’s in a pocket for the same ride?

Presumably yes, as every cyclist ever does that.

Frame storage is my dream feature for a road bike. You see it on gravel bikes and it makes me very jealous.

Another reading is that Botswana has a small economy.

It has been growing fast for a while, but has a heavy reliance on mining gemstones.

> It's funny how we can't be celebrate a European achievement without trying to interpret it into relationship to the US.

It really isn’t funny. The US shat the bed and for now the repercussions are mainly being felt outside the US. When the US realises what it’s lost it’s going to be too late.

Wow, amazing work.

My use case is a bit more basic than most. I am nearly always on routes I know and just want a few basic stats, but…

I require a bike radar to work. I use a Varia. I like the beep, and need the indication for a car behind. Is there any compatibility with this?

If this question is already answered somewhere, apologies.

Music discovery on Spotify used to be great, but I left 5+ years ago so I’m unsure now.
lostlogin··on Fastpotify
Their Joe Rogan period was baffling. It reminded me of Apple and U2.

Apple’s boomer surprise when they discovered we don’t all like U2 was hilarious.

Spotify doesn’t completely agree with that.

‘Spotify is a digital music, podcast, and video service that gives you access to millions of songs and other content from creators all over the world.’

I left in the middle of their ‘we do Podcasts’ bs, where they were pushing Joe Rogan hard.

Yuck.

lostlogin··on Evidence of Fraud in an Influential Study About Procrastination
There are multiple accounts that describe severe pain and the New Zealand government has paid out compensation for the torture that it was. What was being done here was most definitely intended to be painful torture, so maybe isn’t a fair comparison with clinical ECT for actual treatment?

‘Bryon Nichol spent six months in the Lake Alice unit at the age of 12. He said he received electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) many times, which was always unmodified, and without a muscle relaxing anaesthetic. "The nurses would come down and drag me upstairs. I was often so petrified that I soiled myself. They would put a mouthguard in my mouth and held me down while Dr Leeks gave me ECT. The ECT would give me vicious pains in my head and make me feel dizzy and as it continued the pain got worse. My arms and legs flailed about. It was absolute agony."’

And another:

‘Rangi Wickcliffe, 59, is another survivor of the Lake Alice unit. He was 10 when he was first given electric shock treatment. Dr Selwyn Leeks turned the machine on, the pain that you feel from the electricity surging through your head is indescribable. The scream that comes out of your mouth is also indescribable. "The terror was so intense that you lost all bowel movement." He said it felt like his bones would break.’

> Electroconvulsive therapy uses much larger electric shocks but, administered safely by a clinic, is extremely safe, has relatively minor side effects Blame "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for its inaccurate portrayal.

YMMV. I’ve encountered people who have had ECT forced on them whilst inadequately sedated. They have been older/elderly but it would be a mistake assuming it’s always without causing harm.

Someone should have been charged and prosecuted for that, but not the arrested man.

I wondered that too. It doesn't say, but does state: "Data from the license plate readers, known in law enforcement as LPRs, was searched 62,000 times in 2025, leading to about 1,660 cleared catalytic converter theft cases, a report from the authority said."

Also, how many missing people are there? finding 10k seems quite a lot. “one of the most effective ways Flock has been able to help find, just last year, over 10,000 missing persons”.

The number of US companies I support is usually queried, and I do avoid several of them too.

It's certainly tested my will more than more than I expected - Kagi is an amazing search.
