lomlobon··on Humans haven't stopped evolving
Isn't this obvious? Why on earth would it stop? I don't actually believe that 'humans stopped evolving' was ever a widespread belief among scientists. This article has gotta be lying to me.
lomlobon··on AI learns the “dark art” of RFIC design
Look up diagrams for cell signaling cascades sometime. It's emblematic.
lomlobon··on Thunderbird Littering My Home
I've long given up on keeping a clean home folder because so many software do this and keeping it clean is a constant chore. Now I just make a real_home folder in my 'home' and put all my actual stuff there. They can use the ~ landfill
lomlobon··on Throwing AI-generated walls of text into conversations
Oh lord, you're catching the verbal tics. Save yourself, man.
lomlobon··on Bill to block publishers from killing online games advances in California
This whole thing doesn't apply to MMORPGs to begin with because they're all already subscription based. If I understand the main grievance correctly, the problem is giving the consumers the wrong impression they're making a normal one-time-payment PURCHASE and then rendering the item they purchased unusable later.
lomlobon··on Ghostty – Terminal Emulator
How's the latency? I've had to keep using xterm even though it kind of sucks just because it's got the lowest latency by quite a bit.
lomlobon··on Claude says “You're absolutely right!” about everything
Kimi K2 is notably direct and free of this nonsense.
lomlobon··on Rollercoaster Tycoon (Or, MicroProse's Last Hurrah)
Well, if it has a very microprose feel then it was by luck, because they picked it up late in development and it's a single russian guy's brainchild. He also made hammerfight, another excellent (if janky as hell) game.

Highfleet really is a great game though.

lomlobon··on How I Use Kagi
Probably they are using 'Kagi Assistant', which is essentially kagi acting as an intermediary to the major LLMs. You get a catalog and a monthly quota.

Pretty handy. You can also make your assistants use the same custom 'lenses' you do to constrain their searches.
