lofaszvanitt··on Photopea creator weighs in on Photosuite project
Could you please mention the alternative revenue sources.
lofaszvanitt··on Account bans on Reddit
People run these forums, but seemingly they all act like antisocial people. These unwritten rules reminds me of HR's shenanigans. Wear this, talk like that, cv should look like a flying cow, oh and you have to walk backwards to be sure.

The whole reddit experience is just plain ridiculous. It feels exactly like a site that was made by extraterrestrial entities who try to blend in.

New reddit UI/UX is slow and hard to read. old reddit is ok, but you always have a feeling you somehow went back to the 90s. Mind boggling. Site is overengineered and neglected at the same time and most of the moderators are trigger happy and just plain braindead. Perfect example why people should never be given power.

And people less and less want a good discussion, they want to hear their own voices and block you whenever they are losing in an argument. Also, a lot of control freaks roam around who think people are there to cater to their every whim. Others are just running amok, post some ragebait and never commit anything to the "discussion". Essentially enjoy watching as people getting at each others throats.

I have a strange feeling these discussion sites are only there to further alienate people from each other.

lofaszvanitt··on Tell HN: GitHub refuses to remove cracked copies of my software after a month
And how many companies need creative problem solving? Way less and less. The problem is the moat is getting higher. Name any other profession that is kneecapped worse than by the free open source movement and the like. Meaning you can't monetize what you create. Or the usual ways are non-conformant, dictated by the corps and their mindless followers.

How are you supposed to make a living without ads in this "ecosystem" or should we say walled garden?
lofaszvanitt··on JetBrains reports revenue growth, net financial loss for 2025
Still the best code editor. Plus it doesn't have blood written all over it, like VS Code.
lofaszvanitt··on Norway Eyes Partial Ban of Smart Glasses
These smart glasses could unravel some quite profound things about the populace that won't be shared with us. Maybe it's all about easing people into intrabody chips and brain interfaces.
lofaszvanitt··on Former German spy chief arrested for attempted treason
Good luck untangling who is at what level. Especially if your connection to the outside world is barely more than a needle's eye.
lofaszvanitt··on Mistral Large 4
Nah, its beak is still too small to hold a capybara.
lofaszvanitt··on Loss of cell identity drives human aging: Two new papers
People in need are usually creative in their ways...
lofaszvanitt··on Loss of cell identity drives human aging: Two new papers
They get electricity through cables. You nick the cable, end of story for the datacenter. Dataceters in space, welll.... not a good idea. When AI systems gets hooked to humans via brain interfaces and human like robots, well we'd better start worrying.
lofaszvanitt··on Several vulnerabilities have been discovered in the Linux kernel
95% or coders do not care about security at all. It is an afterthought. That's a reality. People only care if they feel the heat.
lofaszvanitt··on Pi 1.0
If you can't find a use for it, then don't use it. So easy. 99% of AI related things are mostly hype and totally useless. Adult childrin having their shiny new gadgets make them feel 14 year old again and again.
lofaszvanitt··on Clef: Open-weight decision models, and new RL fine-tuning platform
Race to the bottom. The one with the most resources wins.
lofaszvanitt··on FTC opens probe into AI giants including Anthropic and OpenAI
Time to start archiving hugging face...
lofaszvanitt··on Backblaze drive stats for Q2 2026
Since Backblaze publishes the stats, Seagate somehow doesn’t dare to put awfully bad drives on the market - ehm they did have a baaad track record. At least the ones monitored by BB seem to be performing well.
lofaszvanitt··on How our vibe coded website looks like a designer made it
a dime a dozen
lofaszvanitt··on CAPTCHAs don't prove you're human – they prove you're American
Some AI researcher blurted out in an interview that it's great that LLMs mostly speak US English, because the British one gonna die out soon thanks to that....
lofaszvanitt··on Where's the Beef?: The lab-grown-meat revolution that wasn't
Yeah, you are partially right, but you still have the option to keep and raise animals.. That's freedom. When the artificial meat starts to take over it will be the death knell of the livestock industry and part of your freedom.
lofaszvanitt··on Google’s Project Suncatcher to put ML infrastructure in space
And people fattened up these companies with their own money :DDD. And now all they do is pouring excrement on the populace.
lofaszvanitt··on Google’s Project Suncatcher to put ML infrastructure in space
Oh, the premise. Look people, this gonna be good:

"whether space could one day host scalable machine learning infrastructure. In low Earth orbit, satellites can access near-constant sunlight, generating up to eight times more solar power than on Earth. Eventually, it could be possible to link together multiple constellations of satellites, allowing them to manage larger AI workloads while in orbit."

More sunlight! :D

lofaszvanitt··on Where's the Beef?: The lab-grown-meat revolution that wasn't
Yeah, imagine AI, but for your food. How tasty, right?

Eternal dependence, and applauding the way they destroy your humanity down to the very last cell. Go on, applaud it.

lofaszvanitt··on Japanese used bookstores see 5x sales surge as books are being bought by the ton
Well, most of the old books are much easier to read than the new ones. Back then people were much more educated and had a much wider vocabulary....
lofaszvanitt··on Where's the Beef?: The lab-grown-meat revolution that wasn't
It could turn into evil quite fast. Just imagine that average joes are forbidden to keep pigs, poultry and the like. Instead you have to buy a zillion dollar lab that creates artificial meat for you.... and pay license fees.
lofaszvanitt··on Early rogue AI agent activity and attempts to hack found on urlquery.net

lofaszvanitt··on Porsche puts wireless EV charging into production
Cats gonna disrupt these systems. And people gonna be angry when next morning the percentage sits around 11%, because the neighbor's cat was sleeping under the car :D
lofaszvanitt··on 'We hacked the FBI:' Hackers say they have data on all FBI employees
What were the sysops doing? I never understand these hacks. These must be deliberate stunts... they let the monkeys run amok with the bananas and they watch what happens.
lofaszvanitt··on 'We hacked the FBI:' Hackers say they have data on all FBI employees
Yeah... what could go wrong :D.
lofaszvanitt··on GPT-6 Sol and Luna
