The aspect ratio of the iPad is not great for video which is mostly a widescreen format. I really don’t like losing so much screen real estate. Sometimes I prefer my iPhone XS Max to watch a video on than my iPad Air.
I specifically bought a kindle Fire 10” tablet to watch videos. Everything else on the iPad is superior to the kindle
Scrum is a way for managers to think they are doing a good job managing, but in fact are micromanaging. For every project, my manager wants a daily scrum. No really efficient
I had an opportunity to decide on what cpu to use for our company’s system refresh last October. We have about 300 laptops and 150 desktops. The only restriction was it had to be a certain Dell latitude version or Dell Optiplex. Dell did not offer any AMD CPU’s for those models at that time. I haven’t checked since. We decided to go with intel core i7. This was a lost opportunity as the Dell rep explained that in order to have the Amd chip, Dell would need to change the motherboard and other items and those systems were designed for Intel. I am disappointed but the corporate restriction on which model to use had to do with the corporate images that were only compatible with those models
Non coder here. I read another thread that there is a glut of entry level programmers and a shortage of experienced programmers. I suppose that many people are jumping into this field now? My first college major was computer programming in the mid 1990’s but it wasn’t for me and I switched to MIS
I have to participate, it is part of my my responsibilities. However I am able to listen to the meeting, provide feedback and work on my laptop at the same time
Having the self driving features on a car such as Tesla auto pilot has really made this problem worse. People rely on their cars to stop in time, although this is not always the case
I have done some testing with the 3rd party iPhone chargers recently. I have a device that measures the number of watts the charger is generating for the phone. The limit on wireless charging is 7.5 watts and many of them don’t quite get there. Most are between 5 and 6 watts. Now this is about the same as the stock Apple charger that comes with your iPhone. I ended up buying a 3rd party charger that supports up to 20 watts for the fast charging compatible iPhones such as 8, X and Xs. You also need the $20 Apple usb-c to lightning cable, but the result is a truly fast charge. Of course my 2015 Samsung Galaxy s6 came with a fast charger in the box, but I am glad that with pricy accessories we can have the same with the iPhone
I have to disagree with the author on the security and change management. I work at an IBM iseries AS/400 shop. Our IT department does follow the normal protocol on the mainframe systems as well as our Windows and Linux systems, however if you have the elevated credentials on the AS/400, you can do anything such as install software or make configuration changes. In fact the problem with the iseries is that in order to perform certain essential system maintenance procedures, you need to have the equivalent of an Windows Enterprise admin logon rights.
Yes, we do have log files for all changes and go through the Sox compliance audits. As well as a ITIL change process, however the actual user rights could be improved by reducing the super admin rights for our operations team.
