lkj··on Let's start using DuckDuckGo more often
- "python remove from list": Google has the Python docs on the first page. DDG does not.

- "site:news.ycombinator.com rms_returns duckduckgo": At first the DDG results looked better but multiple results had no mention of "rms_returns" at all.

- "archlinux dmesg audit": Both nice.

- "lange nacht der museen berlin": Wow, unexpectedly relevant results on DDG, did they improve their local results?

I think I should indeed try again. Previous times it was full of spam for local results.

lkj··on Game Engine Black Books Update
He is working on that at the moment. I wish he did some crowdfunding.
lkj··on Golden: Mapping human knowledge
I do not see attribution on https://golden.com/wiki/Product_Hunt

The vast majority of the text on that page is a verbatim copy from Wikipedia. You have to provide appropriate attribution.

lkj··on Chinese dev jailed and fined for posting DJI's private keys on GitHub
Also note the hints at the original in the URL: "dji_dev_jailed_fined_leaking_aes_ssl_keys_github"

The Register decided that adding the nationality was good for clicks. :(

lkj··on Golden: Mapping human knowledge
So for one of your "showcase" pages, the "Golden AI" plagiarized Wikipedia content and now you are in violation of the CC BY clause Wikipedia uses: https://golden.com/wiki/Product_Hunt/activity/user/golden-ai

How could that happen?

What will happen now?

How will you prevent such copyright violations in the future?

lkj··on Golden: Mapping human knowledge
And "AI". And all about blockchain and VC.
lkj··on How To Edit A Low-Budget Blockbuster [video]
Low-budget being 1 million dollars.

Sadly that video edit was so unnerving I closed the tab after skipping around to see if it later changed (it did not).

lkj··on Hitman Runner Mark Fellows Convicted of Murder on GPS Watch Data
Please use the article's title: "Runner found to be a hitman after GPS Watch ties him to crime scene"

Or at least tame the capitalization for a more readable "Hitman runner Mark Fellows convicted of murder on GPS watch data"

lkj··on Q2VKPT: Fully path traced Quake 2
Raytracing, not textures.
lkj··on Generative art: New and recreated vintage art, made with code and imagination
Nice images!

You can half the filesizes by better compressing the PNGs, for example with optipng or pngcrush, losslessly.

lkj··on USB drives with no phantom load
Thank you! The following quote resonates heavily with my mind:

> I'm fairly addicted to that point in development of a project where it's all about exploring a vast solution space, and making countless little choices that will hopefully add up to something coherent and well thought out and useful. Or might fail gloriously.

lkj··on Designing better file organization around tags, not hierarchies (2017)
Wow! Thank you.

As I recently inherited a huge, well-tagged music collection (tens of terabytes of files) I am very interested in this. Is there something like it, also supporting .cue files and also storing the original filenames and structure? A mediaplayer agnostic way to access this treasure trove would be the best.
