Up until recently (and my intervention) my work had multiple aws accounts tied to individual people, where they had inherited a personal account into the billing org.
There are also, in business use, some domains where an executive personally owns the registration but has delegated DNS into the company. There is no written agreement.
A former employer completely lost access to a couple of social media accounts (twitter/$company, etc) after laying off enough people.
These word changes were real things that happened by government policy.
For a specific recent example democrat-leaning states had much stricter and longer-lasting covid lockdowns - preventing free association is a form of censorship.
Senator Kerry voted for the iraq war.

You are, apparently, well-off enough to have enough money in your venmo/checking where you don't think about it too much but I think the OP was referring to the less well-off but common situation where you are spending a little over your current ability - be it physical cash on hand (not your situation) or the amount available in your account.
It is effectively a Han ethno-state, led by a de-facto king, with many novel forms of discrimination normalized into the culture.
