lemonspat··on Solarwind, Fireeye, Microsoft and Cisco leaks are offered for sale
That's an impressively detailed response. Did you happen to track all these kinds of quotes routinely for your own research, or are you that good at finding this info that quickly.
lemonspat··on Solarwind, Fireeye, Microsoft and Cisco leaks are offered for sale
autoro- I have to ask, did you publish this yourself? It’s your only submission and your only comment
lemonspat··on Moderna is announcing three new vaccine programs
A few weeks ago, I looked for info on how the mRNA itself is produced/created in these vaccines, but couldn't find the answer. Does anyone know?
lemonspat··on Amazon Echo Flex: Microphone mute button appears to be real and functional
> would be to play a message after turning the device on

It does this already

lemonspat··on Amazon Echo Flex: Microphone mute button appears to be real and functional
The boot up sequence does an audible musical tone and says "Hello", so an attacker is not silently going to reboot it and listen in
lemonspat··on Theranos destroyed subpoenaed SQL blood test database, prosecutors say
How has Elizabeth still not had her trial?!It keeps getting pushed back.. and more surprising, she got married in 2019 while awaiting trial?!

Does that expose her new husband to financial liability from the fraud lawsuit?

lemonspat··on The Clean Network
Why do you need to pretend things are racist when they aren't? IT and security use medical terms like 'viruses', and bad computers are 'wiped clean', so 'clean' is a common term and there's no reason to pretend that its intended to be racist. A clean network is a joke though and will fail
lemonspat··on The Hazards of Asset Allocation in a Late-Stage Major Bubble
> instead of the hands of real estate and Wall St.

Is the Fed buying real estate now? I knew they expanded to ETFs and bonds, but are they actually buying land/buildings or REITs?

lemonspat··on C.S. Lewis on the Reading of Old Books
> so you find ancient maps with East as the top.

I have seen that before with the T and O maps [1], where Asia is presented as North. They are nice, simple maps for their age

lemonspat··on Cabal: A peer-to-peer, off-grid, community-first, hackable chat platform
Image uploads are nice, but can be overcome through other channels until the feature is added. The page says that the project is "super young"
lemonspat··on Cabal: A peer-to-peer, off-grid, community-first, hackable chat platform
This looks promising. Is there a web client, or only a desktop client?

lemonspat··on 81k UK-owned .eu domains suspended as Brexit transition ends
When the new registrations begin (Jan 2022), hopefully the former owners moved off of them completely, before an attacker registers them, points the MX records, leading to mailbox collection and password resets. Without ownership, it might be hard to change other systems (DNS-based verification).
lemonspat··on New Defaults
> The current Tsai Ing-wen's regime actually oppressed free press and freedom of speech

> The more information is NOT better at all. Information overload will cause great harm and push people to the extreme ideology

I sense that you believe in two conflicting views. You want less information, but are critical of silencing a pro-China TV license in Taiwan? How do you rectify this yourself? I'm trying to understand.

lemonspat··on Google Hangouts Dropping Fi Support
> Soon, you won’t be able to use Hangouts for SMS/MMS text messages, voice calls, or voicemail.

Well that's frustrating. What should I rely on now? Can Twilio do this for me as a consumer, or is that mostly for businesses?

lemonspat··on Payment processor for Amazon India had leak of over 100M users
Ya, but if only six of the 16 are hashed, I'm trying to think of where an attacker will deduce the other 10? It's a known integer space, but how do they know which 10 belong to the other 6?
lemonspat··on Microsoft job posting suggests a major user interface update expected in 2021
I have often wondered when a UI will be 'settled' and won't need to be updated anymore. But then what will the UI designers do? Idle fingers make new designs?
lemonspat··on Payment processor for Amazon India had leak of over 100M users
> The breach was restricted to an isolated system containing non-sensitive masked card primarily used for display purposes on merchant UI and cannot be used for completing a transaction. All of the customers’ full card numbers, order information, card PINs, or passwords are secure. The compromised data does not contain any transaction or order information.

https://juspayproducts.medium.com/your-security-is-our-first...

From this posting's article:

> In this case, Juspay has hashed the 16-digit debit and credit card numbers in order to process transactions.

> Juspay has masked only six digits out of sixteen-digit card numbers. Rajaharia says that while this is good, the safety of users rests primarily on the hashing algorithm.

lemonspat··on My Google Traffic Has Fallen to Zero
Same thing happened to me with other services too. Sadly this is too common
lemonspat··on SolarWinds: The more we learn, the worse it looks
So your theory is, because they didn't release the Cozy Bear signatures, that it must be CIA/NSA? That's a huge stretch to the opposite side of the conspiracy. How do you explain the hacking of the Treasury and other government agencies in your scenario?
lemonspat··on Equal Pay for Equal Work
I really don’t understand your argument. NY and SF cost 4x for just housing from where I live, and the food & taxes are more expensive.

Call it cost-of-housing or cost-of-equal-expenses, or whatever but the name doesn’t matter. The costs to the employee are different

But I’m a remote employee right now and do want equal pay

lemonspat··on Superhuman is Sublime Text for Email
Sublime Text doesn't have a $30/month fee like this does though. ST is popular not because it's sleek, but because it's fast, uses little memory, never crashes, and restores everything when your computer goes brrrrp
lemonspat··on Apple reverses stance on Amphetamine App
I want to agree with you, but I'm not going to use Cydia on my phone for my banking apps. At least the Apple app store makes some effort (liability is the wrong word) to make sure that my banking apps aren't fraudulent or scammer apps.

I have no such trust when downloading apps from alternate places

lemonspat··on My Experience at Apple
I have seen people on Twitter get angry over less information. What’s wrong with escalating this internally? We can both agree that there should be a real investigation right?
lemonspat··on My Experience at Apple
Do you mean park side or Corp side? Because I’ve heard bad stories about the park side of things
lemonspat··on School or Prison
I had the same college experience. I nearly raised my hand to request permission but saw other kids just leaving class (sophomores I think)
lemonspat··on EU Signs €145B Declaration to Develop Next Gen Processors and 2nm Technology
I read the previous comment as: there wasn’t anyone at the end trying to help make it actually commercialized
lemonspat··on UK formally leaves European Union after 48 years
Is Morocco in the EU or schengen? I expect those are the prerequisites
lemonspat··on An Open Letter to the Communications of the ACM
> I think it's obnoxious to force others to obey their moralizing while refusing to submit their views to serious debate.

I agree, but it is even more obnoxious than that. Watching from the sidelines of Twitter, anyone who challenges a 'canceller' just gets bombarded with name calling (racism, sexism, phobic, etc) even if they're not and even if the comments were well intention ed

lemonspat··on An Open Letter to the Communications of the ACM
> "I want to assure you that I bear no animosity."

That's a lie. NVidia should let the author go
