lele··on The Non-Programming Programmer
It makes sense to me. Programmers who can program - and don't want to stop working as employees - give up programming to pursue higher paying careers, such as project management. Actually, many "programmers" nowadays can get by simply copying and pasting code from the Internet. If you ask them how things work, they don't know. That's my experience.
lele··on BerliOS has been OWNED
Sure, there are more polite ways, but this is the most effective one.
lele··on Ask HN: Tips on domain registration and website setup
I dont really understand this line "Some registrars offer to hide your contact info, but then they will own of your domain."

That's what I've read somewhere: since contact info associated with your domain points to your registrar (or web host), you have given up control. Is that correct, or you'll keep full control and ownership of your domain? Thanks.

lele··on Ask HN: Is it worth to study languages on the JVM without knowing Java?
I would not recommend studying Java (the language) in depth, since basic knowledge is enough to interact with libraries. However, because of the Law of Leaking Abstractions (http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/LeakyAbstractions.htm...), you better know Java (the platform and its tools) inside-out.
lele··on Ymacs - An Emacs-like editor for the web
Another "Emacs-like editor" which misses the point. The "Emacs experience" is not about keybindings, but about an interactive and fully customizable environment. Nonetheless, great work.
lele··on Language Learning Difficulty for English Speakers
Some time ago, I read an article by an English teacher living in Russia. She said you can make a good living there by privately teaching English.
lele··on A site for Picolisp, a very true Lisp
Why would this be bad? If you are developing commercial software you want to keep closed-source, look for a commercial closed-source license.
lele··on Perl: Love it, or hate it, but don't ignore it
I have been loving Perl until I knew sound languages. Then I realized all the time it made me waste.
lele··on Whitespace
I can't wait for a printed book about this new language.
