I'm lazy.

lazyloop··on To help gamers on Twitch, Dr. K balances mental health advice and medical ethics
He is a supposed mental health professional, and he turns the misery of others into entertainment, without any regard for what happens to his "patients" afterwards.
lazyloop··on To help gamers on Twitch, Dr. K balances mental health advice and medical ethics
Turning the misery of others into entertainment, great content.
lazyloop··on To help gamers on Twitch, Dr. K balances mental health advice and medical ethics
Turning a mental health emergency into a public spectacle for entertainment is so utterly American and corrupt. It sickens me. There is nothing heartwarming about profiting from the misery of others.
lazyloop··on How can a disease with 1% mortality shut down the United States?
Shutdowns also give the virus more time and incentive to evolve into more contagious variants with much milder symptoms. If we delay it long enough it can actually end up just being like the seasonal flu.
lazyloop··on What is the core of the Python programming language?
Python for WebAssembly already exists and runs fine on iOS. https://holzschu.github.io/a-Shell_iOS/
lazyloop··on Perl is dying
But Perl does have functions with arguments, by all definitions. https://metacpan.org/pod/distribution/perl/pod/perlsub.pod#S...
lazyloop··on SQLite Code of Conduct
Dangerous not to make that more clear if true.
lazyloop··on SQLite Code of Conduct
"1. First of all, love the Lord God with your whole heart, your whole soul, and your whole strength."
lazyloop··on Mojolicious 8.0 released: Perl real-time web framework
Congrats! Where i work Mojolicious is what keeps us using Perl.
lazyloop··on Redis will remain BSD licensed
You're mixing up Open Source and Free Software, those two are not the same.
lazyloop··on Ruby’s Rack Push: Decoupling the real-time web application from the web
That's what Perl/Mojolicious does too.
lazyloop··on Ruby’s Rack Push: Decoupling the real-time web application from the web
One of the reasons i really like Perl is Mojolicious. Thanks to it we don't need separate servers for websockets and HTTP anymore. https://mojolicious.org
lazyloop··on Perl and Undecidability (2008)
Perl being a dead and disliked language has become a meme. But the community is still very much alive and a lot of cool stuff is being built with Modern Perl. http://mojolicious.org
lazyloop··on Ask HN: Best tech for a web site 2018? (PHP, Rails, Django, Node, Go, etc.)?
Use whatever language you know best, and if you feel like trying something different maybe give Modern Perl and Mojolicious a try. http://mojolicious.org
lazyloop··on Silicon Valley programmers pressure friends to quit working at Uber
These are the words of a man who contributed to the very problem that Uber is facing, and who is now scared that his vested equity will not be worth anything. Perhaps Uber should start fixing problems, instead of blaming minorities for not having a thicker skin. Wishing for minorities to invade Uber and fix all problems for you is delusional at best.
lazyloop··on Razer targets perfect Linux support
Couldn't agree more, Razer support is awful. They make pretty products, but if something doesn't work you're going to have a very bad time.
lazyloop··on Razer targets perfect Linux support
This is false. On apple.de you can currently order 9 different keyboard layouts, including US.
lazyloop··on Modern Perl 4th Edition is out, ebook version is free
Perl6 and Perl5 are two completely different languages, they have about as much in common as Python and Ruby.
lazyloop··on Will there be a Distributed HTTP?
No.
lazyloop··on Call Me Maybe: MongoDB Stale Reads
Actually, the defaults are still unsafe, just the marketing language has changed. Take the Node.js driver for example, it defaults to w=null and j=false. http://mongodb.github.io/node-mongodb-native/2.0/api/Db.html
lazyloop··on Learning the Web

LEARN TECHNOLOGIES: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python
One of those does not belong.
lazyloop··on HTTP/2 Is Done
How is it that sensible comments like this keep getting downvoted?
lazyloop··on HTTP/2 Is Done
This for example happened in the HTTP working group earlier today, the whole thing was rushed and the known flaws just keep adding up. https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/ietf-http-wg/2015JanMar...
lazyloop··on HTTP/2 Is Done
Poul-Henning Kamp (the author of Varnish) explained it best. http://queue.acm.org/detail.cfm?id=2716278
lazyloop··on HTTP/2 Is Done
HTTP/2 is a bad protocol, that much is clear by now. Luckily most of us won't have to deal with it, because it will be deployed merely as an optimization, with a new generation of reverse-proxy servers, like H2O. https://github.com/h2o/h2o
lazyloop··on Perl Already Won
Of course this comment is getting downvoted into oblivion. The open source community has no problem with sexism... noooo sir.
lazyloop··on Perl Already Won
So you think sexism is cool? There's at least one slide in that talk with a very demeaning picture of a scantily clad woman at 6:55. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gweDBQ-9LuQ#t=417
lazyloop··on Perl Already Won
Ruby is dead. http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index....
lazyloop··on Last Call: HTTP2
New Year's Eve was also an odd choice for starting a last call.
lazyloop··on Programming languages and Frameworks to learn in 2015
