Reason for the failure: switched to Chad IDE to ship new features.

A lot of failures lately during the aI ReVoLuTiOn.

laurentiurad··on Americans crushed by auto loans as defaults and repossessions surge
I am originally from EE and there are reports every month on how cars cause accidents because breaks didn't work, or an entire wheel flies out of its place. Not to mention the gazillion cases of accidents caused by improper headlights.

The only reason the second-hand market works there is because most of the used cars come from Germany, and they have strict laws for checking the cars periodically. Once they roll on the EE roads for a few years, then the cracks start popping up which cause horrible accidents.

Just implying that EE is this amazing place where second-hand cars have no issues and Americans should follow the same model shows that you have no idea what you're talking about.

laurentiurad··on Survey: a third of senior developers say over half their code is AI-generated
This is the usual propaganda from private equity that invest in LLMs to make you feel like you're missing out for not generating AI slop yourself. I am not surprised that this gets so much traction on YC-owned website since they invest only in AI generating slop companies lately.
laurentiurad··on Can an LLM predict how markets evolve through hallucinations?
thanks! I am the person behind the repo. I'd love to get some feedback to see what I can add to make it better.
laurentiurad··on Can an LLM predict how markets evolve through hallucinations?
I totally agree. This is just an experiment and you can easily switch to the Paper API of Alpaca if you don't want to invest real money.

laurentiurad··on Why today's software is buggy
could be technical in the sense that modern software doesn't handle pretty well unknown values. There's rarely a system that can produce certain output, it's always more like a probability of getting a certain output.

Take GPS for example, it only gives you an approximation of where you are, not the exact location. And this example can be extrapolated to basically almost any new tech.

laurentiurad··on Ask HN: How likely it is that the AI bubble will pop next year?
Same as it was for dot com bubble. Internet didn't end there but it generated a lot of job losses and economic slowdown.
laurentiurad··on Ask HN: How likely it is that the AI bubble will pop next year?
Revenue is one thing but profit is the most important metric here. I remember when the dot com bubble popped. Back then everything you need to have was a landing page to raise 200 million, but now it's the same to get 2 billion (see this example: https://www.perplexity.ai/discover/finance/mira-murati-s-thi...). It's really the same case but due to the inflation we see higher numbers.
laurentiurad··on Ask HN: How likely it is that the AI bubble will pop next year?
sure, CEOs act as sales agents, but they still rely on investors' money. If they stop believing, then it's all over.

considering the low price of the aircraft tickets (at least from Europe) to the US, you are not alone.
laurentiurad··on AI Stock Could Be the Biggest Winner of the Second Half of 2025
My investment strategy is to buy whatever they say we should sell and viceversa. They are saying since the beginning of the year that Palantir is overvalued and it's 80% up. We should have an index at some point - reversed fool.com
laurentiurad··on Accumulation of cognitive debt when using an AI assistant for essay writing task
this analogy is flawed to its core. The car doesn't make you forget how to walk, because you are still forced to walk in certain circumstances. Delegating learning to an llm will increase your reliance on it, and will eventually affect the way you're learning. A better analogy is the usage of GPS. If you use it continuously, you will be dependent on it to get to a place, and lose the capacity to find places on your own.
laurentiurad··on Building Effective AI Agents
I used an n8n workflow I developed with one of the exact setups shown in the article. It costs me $3 and at least 3 minutes to get a response to a simple question. No thanks, I am sticking to normal search for the moment.
laurentiurad··on Get financial and historical data for any public company for free

Looking for feedback from people working in quant finance, software development, market data or development experience experts.

I find it great! Usually one has to go through many AI products to generate different output (like videos, images, 3d objects etc.). With this, you have everything in a single place.
