Feels based anti-science.
>HPV vaccine is not risk free
No vaccine is "risk free." The entire point is that vaccinations overall have less risks than you would suffer if you had gotten the disease it's helping safeguard against.
MacOS does that natively. My battery rarely charges above 80% because I "almost never use it on battery so there's no need."
"Can you tell me a use case for this?" for a feature for example present in every other DE. I forgot what the exact context was or I'd pull up the ticket. Something to do with the sorting of files from the header of the sort display or some such.
It was infuriating. Had to reboot and it does it on every filament sync now.
Words and phrases have meaning. That's not what empirical evidence means.
Because there's only single manufacturer of plant based products, right? and it's not as if meat isn't heavily subsidized by the government otherwise. Pfft.
And you know why plant based milk is shelved next to milk? SO PEOPLE CAN FIND IT. People don't want to go to another specialized aisle just to find products.
It's Hotz. Why would you waste time expecting that.
Worse! He volunteered, then went "Hey anyone want an internship? Fix twitter search, Make the code MIT, and then maybe I'll give you an internship."
...had 0 authority to give anyone an internship btw. Dudebro just wanted free fix.
It'd be nice if you blatantly didn't break HN rules.
Hm, unsure why the hostility there. My quip wasn't nearly this hostile.
>I use 2-ply and 3 squares at most.
Yes, that's not bad quality TP lol, and not what I was talking about. You ever seen TP in universities/restrooms for supermarkets etc? That's what I am talking about. Further, you ignored the points about using toilet paper as tissue paper, which is what a lot of people in bathrooms also do.
Great, go rub a TP that feels like sand paper on your anus even to dry it off then. See how it goes.
(Quality of TP still matters, even for usage as minor wipes/tissue paper etc)
Banks' Culture Communism/Anarchism > Star Trek, any day imho.
I don't mean to sound insensitive, but, how? Literal hours?
Honestly there are way too many dystopian "omg this tech will do this" media as opposed to "this tech will do this good thing."
Strong warning: Start with either book 2 (Player of Games) or book...7, Look to Windward.
I strongly suggest you skip book 1 until you're comfortable with the rest of the books that focus on the Culture itself, and not some weird offshoot story that barely involves the Culture.
Then a few weeks in he went "Anyone want a job? Fix this, make your code MIT and we'll see!"
...despite the fact that he just wanted to steal code and had 0 authority to give anyone a job.
Musk has yet to provide a single line item that does so. If "no need for FOIA, everything is transparent" is so transparent, let us have every single line item, why he thinks it should be removed (the real reason, not "WFA"), and a method to submitting public comments that he then goes over and actually makes decisions like how rule changes are proposed, commented, and finalized in federal registers.
"I dun wan it" isn't a good enough reason.
A smart home should predict my needs dynamically rather than do stuff based on predefined conditions and is more than just "turn living room red."
Not being an absolute insane jerk off is a good expectation of people.
Original Huawei mate x and the new trifold does what I'd like. But then again... Huawei so can't in US lol.
It's a -"I can ask it questions based on results and/or ask it to tweak things and/or ask it dumb what if questions" that I can't on web "good."-
Honestly one of the major plus towards LLMs is that it is immediate and interactive.
>Hmmm, that almost sounds like we're trying to use AI to unwind an Eternal September brought on by StackOverflow and Github. I might buy that.
I mean, what's the alternative? You're not going back to web of 90s (and despite nostalgia, web of 90s was fairly bad).
>you can't trust textual web results anymore--you need a secondary channel
I wonder how good LLMs would be at verifying other LLMs that are trained differently - eg sometimes I switch endpoints in LibreChat midpoint during a problem after I am satisfied with an answer to a problem, and ask a different LLM to verify everything. It's pretty neat at catching tidbits.
But...this applies to engineering and/or webdev too. You can't just expect to copy paste a limited solution limited to 4096 output tokens or whatever that would work in a huge system you have at your job, which the LLM has 0 context of.
Smaller problems, sure, but they're also YMMV. And honestly if I can solve smaller irritating problems using LLMs so I can shift my focus to more annoying, larger tasks, why not?
What I am saying is that you also do need to know fundamentals of webdev to use LLMs to do webdev effectively.
