Their recent videos showcase what they're doing in that area https://www.youtube.com/@ElectricClassicCars/videos
It is a downside to the proliferation of poorly secured devices. Your nebulous statement could be applied to anything.
And that of anyone who quotes them too
Have a gander at https://www.jmri.org/help/en/html/hardware/index.shtml#netwo... for a good list of protocols
My Luba 2 has saved me 3 weeks of manual mowing over the past year and my lawn has never looked better. Frequently complemented by others.
It's just a lawn and a lawnmower. I'm not playing keeping up with the jones, hoa bullshit or whatever other nonsense Americans invent. It's just a Scottish garden for the wildlife to roam in.
UK to Europe will have border control, passports, etc.
"Called Subscriber Held", a feature that was carried into early digital exchanges because people expected it to work in the manner you describe, even though afaik it was designed for the other purpose of keeping the line open whilst operators patched it through, trunk lines picked up the tone, etc.
My grandpa was a something like chief engineer for the West Coast of Scotland phone network. I have so many questions I wish I could ask him these days.
I know mechanics, they have been on EV training courses. The dealerships clearly have trained mechanics working on the EVs they've been selling for years.
I live in the countryside, I see plenty of EVs. Range anxiety is only for people doing long distance 200+ mile journeys every day, as those that commute in the suburbs day to day have the common (and financial) sense to charge at home and leave every morning with a 'full tank'
Judging from your prose, admittedly, I suspect you are North American and as such have a distinctly different worldview from mine.
There are millions using @faculty.university.ac.uk style addresses, or employer addresses, club addresses, etc
If I choose to I could be using my local car club email address.
It's all evident in the domain name.
"Multiple troubleshooting efforts to address the area of the leak by reseating a seal in the quick disconnect where liquid hydrogen is fed into the rocket did not fix the issue"
I've been fiddling away with OWL and OpenDrop for a few months now, trying to get it working on a Raspberry Pi Zero.
The goal was a digital picture frame that accepts Bluetooth and AirDrop pictures. The bluetooth part works fine... but it's the Airdrop part that's dead in the water at the moment.
Replacing a lightswitch with an app that requires human interaction is indeed ridiculous.
Replacing a lightswitch with a motion sensor has been a staple feature of commercial buildings for decades.
Similar for heating control, occupancy detection, adaptive lighting, energy management, etc. Replacing a physical entity without adding any value to it is pointless, hence the 'automation' part of the phrase
HV systems for close quarters use are made safe by technology.
The HV plug for your car could easily be wet as well, but it's made safe by having a signal wire and intelligence before it powers up or down.
For busses, Alstom have already got a ground based charging system, built upon their years of ground based power for trams.

This is already being done in London, and probably other areas.
This was to avoid upsetting the passengers and to ensure the champagne didn't get shaken too much.
edit: I wonder if we're experiencing the difference between 250W continuous rated motors, which is what the legislation covers, and 250W peak rated motors, which is what a lot of people end up incorrectly obtaining.
And the great bit is that if you are ignorant of these laws and get caught on an electric bike doing higher speeds then you get a penalty as if you are riding a motorbike without insurance or a license - aka penalty points on your regular driving license, plus all the other court shenanigans.
"A great number of these records were destroyed and a sizeable portion sent to Britain to be kept secret. "
Not all have been destroyed.
Do others? You are but one in the massive herd
