kylegawley··on Ask HN: How to build site with payment, subscriptions, user login, registration
Don't do it, use a starter kit like usegravity.app and save yourself the time and headache
kylegawley··on Ask HN: What's the best SaaS boilerplate/all in one solution to build a PoC/MVP?
usegravity.app
kylegawley··on Ask HN: A SaaS template for new products? Cut dev time to 1 week?
There are quite a few starter kits, for various stacks.

I built https://usegravity.app for React/Node

SaaS Pegasus is a good one for Python: https://www.saaspegasus.com/

kylegawley··on Ask HN: Best SaaS Boilerplate?
For sure it has to be https://usegravity.app (Node & React)
kylegawley··on Ask HN: Looking to get back to RoR, resources?
I built https://usegravity.app to solve this problem :)
kylegawley··on Ask HN: Who wants to collaborate?
How much are you offering for these services and why is it different to any existing SaaS boilerplates on the market
kylegawley··on What would be your choice for setting up a new SaaS project for 2022?
I built a React & Node SaaS boilerplate (https://usegravity.app) so I'm firmly in the camp of 'it's better to buy rather than build' for most use cases. The question then is choosing the right boilerplate stack, which I guess comes down to personal preference. There's a lot of different options to choose from now with different stack choices :)

I recently launched version 8 of my SaaS boilerplate while crossing the 6-figure revenue mark. The boilerplate helps businesses to short-circuit development times by providing common SaaS-functionality in a single install that can be deployed in seconds for both web and mobile apps –

• Billing • Authentication • User interface • REST API • Support for multiple databases • Organisations and teams • User management • Tests • User feedback and onboarding

It also comes with Mission Control – a master dashboard that enables SaaS owners to manage users and log behaviour and errors.

I built this product initially to solve my own requirement of quickly spinning up a new SaaS product without wasting months writing plumbing code that provides no value to end-users. I also previously built a VC-funded business and got stressed out and hospitalised, so I wanted to create a product that enabled me to design a very different lifestyle to what I had been previously accustomed to.

I have 338 customers and counting who have paid to solve the same problem. They have built everything from construction site management apps to online art brokers and homework apps for kids.

I would love to hear suggestions, feedback or ideas on where to take the product next.

I'm a happy customer – I bought it ~6 months ago and use it most days as part of my work flow. $25 was a no-brainer for me, I didn't even think twice.
kylegawley··on What's the best SaaS starter kit?
How much is your own time worth?
kylegawley··on What's the best SaaS starter kit?
I'm the founder of usegravity.app

I've been dedicated to this product for years and provide weekly updates, daily support and video tutorials. I can't do that for free/cheap hence the price. If I charged less, it simply wouldn't be sustainable for me to provide the current level of service and maintenance.

Also, paying a developer to build the same features and invest the time that I have is going to cost a heck of a lot more than $995. It's not just the development hours either, Gravity has been battle tested in over 300+ commercial products and iterated on hundreds of times to incorporate the feedback from those deployments in the field.

kylegawley··on Ask HN: Companies of one, what is your tech stack?
I built a SaaS starter kit (https://usegravity.app) and use the same kit in a few SaaS products. I'm obviously biased, but I would never start a new project from scratch for several reasons:

1. Building boilerplate code takes a long time to do things properly and is often never as simple as we may anticipate.

2. The time is better spent on building features for customers.

3. As you mentioned, it's painful to build this stuff.
