kvirani··on Supabase is acquiring Turso
Something tells me the test suites won't be human written, for most of them. They probably won't be fully human reviewed even.

Sqlite has become the standard? I've been out for a couple years but this is news to me. What does it mean though? Standard for what?
kvirani··on Cloudflare K2: serverless event streams
Lore has entered the chat.
kvirani··on DeepSeek Harness Desktop for macOS and Windows
I don't get it
kvirani··on Claude's Load-Bearing Seams
It drives me bananas. This post is so triggering.
kvirani··on I don't want the details
This resonates as I'm trying to do this more, especially since I'm historically more people-pleasey.

Any resources you suggest?

kvirani··on Grok 4.7
Muggle question... I don't fully understand what moves the needle further for these frontier models.

Is the training data more valuable ? The training process ? The harness ?

I know they are all important but where are they (all the frontier labs) really pushing to get incremental gains?

kvirani··on Htmx 4.0
Nice. Curious about your views on SolidJS?

Aside: I used to love reading qz. Anyone remember when it was a chat/imessage style mobile app? The news was super short and quirky.

Then they sold out and most recently literally sold out to this software company from my neck of the woods. Every single article now feels like it's written by an LLM optimized to write like a crypto/AI bro.

I used to use it daily and now not at all.

kvirani··on Grok 4.6 scores 61 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index
Folks working in US govt tend to, based on convos I've had with one such person.

Super valuable and actionable advice. :100:
kvirani··on London Gatwick has launched a robotic airport parking service
Yes I see this all the time on BC ferries. Usually an Audi or similar
kvirani··on Lore – Open source version control system designed for scalability
There's also a new player called diversion (diversion.dev) which I think may be a YC startup? Anyway it takes a different approach of being more like Google drive but bringing in VCS behavior making it more indie and designer friendly.
kvirani··on OpenRouter raises $113M Series B
Today your statement is a little too ambitious but I agree with the overall point that the inherent effort based moat in SaaS is mostly gone and now it is really about personalizing your own.

The most common counter-argument that I've seen here is " Yes, but no organization wants to manage all of their different operational tools. They would rather just outsource that responsibility to third-party entities".

I'm not sure I fully agree with that counter. Because agents can be viewed as third party entities in some sense. If not today then maybe soon.

Haha

kvirani··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026)
Oh wow. This seems like it was a lot of work. Bookmarked and installed!
kvirani··on The AI Great Leap Forward
This is just false.
kvirani··on Show HN: QuickBEAM – run JavaScript as supervised Erlang/OTP processes
Whoa! you have quite the profile.
kvirani··on AI overly affirms users asking for personal advice
I'm not convinced that "actual logic and thought" aren't just about inferring what comes next statistically based on experience.
kvirani··on Apple randomly closes bug reports unless you "verify" the bug remains unfixed
Oh so it jumping to the top happens to others too?
kvirani··on Diverse perspectives on AI from Rust contributors and maintainers
This is my immediate concern as well. Sam said in an interview that he sees "intelligence" as a utility that companies like OpenAI would own and rent out.
kvirani··on Show HN: I built a sub-500ms latency voice agent from scratch
Isn't fact 2 just a now problem though? Will people's latency expectation not change over time, as it gradually goes down?
kvirani··on Why XML tags are so fundamental to Claude
You're on to something here. Can we go more meta and define these dynamically such that users can customize multiple output streams?
kvirani··on Switch to Claude without starting over
Nice. Just cancelled my openai plus sub.
kvirani··on Frontier AI agents violate ethical constraints 30–50% of time, pressured by KPIs
I put it into AI and TIL about "gotcha arguments" and eristics and went down a rabbit hole. Thanks for this!
kvirani··on Claude is a space to think
Wow. Well said.
kvirani··on The recurring dream of replacing developers
You write so well that I'm convinced by your words, even if you are wrong. Do you write professionally?
kvirani··on Icons in Menus Everywhere – Send Help
I do like how in some MacOS examples we see icons for some of the more important or commonly used menu items, but not the others in the same list. The absence of icons has meaning ("it's likely not what you want")

> I’ve noticed how fashionable it is in the US in particular, to distrust the government

No that's actually a sign of a third-world country. It's definitely shifting towards that in the US but is not as bad as Pakistan, for example. Yet.
