krabpaaltje··on Programmers Should Automate More
When I used Windows this tool was always installed.

Now I use osx and sadly finding files seems to be an unsolved problem...

krabpaaltje··on Pixel Map Generator
Nice. One thing though, choosing a country and setting the color for water also makes neighbouring countries that color, as if a country suddenly becomes an island.
krabpaaltje··on Problems with Android Studio
Professional android (and previously ios) developer here.

If you know what to do then AS is pretty great. If you want to compare it with xcode then xcode is a sad state of affairs imho, lacking a lot of features that AS has.

It was a bit painful to have to see my ios colleagues have to resort to textsearch to find out where a certain member was being accessed, i mean come on.

The little ios dev I still do I do in Jetbrains' AppCode. Much better for actually coding.

krabpaaltje··on Stack Overflow Outage Postmortem
Bottle of tequila on the spacebar
krabpaaltje··on A case against syntax highlighting (2007)
The idea is that syntax highlighting frees up the brain from doing tedious things like analyzing syntax, to use them on a higher level.

Less strain on the brain, so to speak.

krabpaaltje··on Electric Bikes Won Over China. Is the U.S. Next?
Of ebikes? To us they're equivalent of someone riding their bike very fast, which one encounters every now and then. No big deal.

Then again everyone rides bicycles here.

krabpaaltje··on Vivaldi 1.2 release
After using it for 10 minutes

- Chrome plugins

- tabs configurable at the side instead of on top

- native (?) mousegestures

So far so good!

krabpaaltje··on Anxiety and Depression Are Symptoms, Not Diseases
> But I can't really see myself to visit mutliple therapists just to find someone that can work with me.

You want help, right? If so, then pick up the phone, and keep searching until you find a fit.
