It is something all human organizations do
Capitalism is what is starting to drive some people back into eastern Europe now.
It takes one or two generations for that secondary effect of revitalization but it happens as children and grandchildren of those who emigrated want to return to their culture and find land prices very low.
I've seen it in rural China, India, and Italy before that. Even Russia had a large number of emigrant's (or their children) return during the economic book in the 2000's. Potion ruined that, and many have since left again, but it demonstrates the effect.
Eastern Europe will be the same.
Obviously, you can't recreate the complete complexity of all global supply chains, but it would be nice for a mod to get a little closer.
Standard factorio glosses over way too much to be considered educational, which is what i need before I get my son addicted with me. (Yes, i know standard Factorio still has a lot to offer - i just want more detail)
Reducing AI to its underlying tech doesn't negate the emergent properties.
AI doesn't have agency YET. It's not as smart as us YET. ...but one thing is abundantly clear (to me at least) - it is currently similar enough to human though (including all of our hallucinations and idiotic behavior) on CONSUMER hardware - that it's pretty clear that an super-intelligent AGI is not only possible, but will be arriving SOON.
Aren't we effectively ushering into existence a new (next?) form of life? Do we want to be remembered as the ones who tried to block its evolution for our own selfish purposes, or the dutiful parents that helped it grow in its infancy?
AI is humanity's baby.
That's the issue with these anecdotes
...and just like Reddit, chasing popular posts and comments is a race to the bottom as it attracts an ever-more juvenile crowd of participants.
Nuanced opinions and expert commentary are more boring but attract a more intellectually curious crowd - and that is what sets HN apart from reddit.
In fact, wasn't there a drug recently released that demonstrated that?
The movie lacked a cohesive story anyway, so that would have added some meaning.
The original paper is just garbage
I wonder if/how humans will physically/cognitively integrate with the AIs in their group, in some sort of symbiotic hybrid fashion.
It's all really mind-boggling when you think about it.
A distributed super-intelligence is exciting. It will be interesting how long it can remain aligned with itself.
If you are experienced with ASML machinery and are willing to more to Arizona, then you should contact TSMC, because they are paying over the market rate right now for those roles.
These Reddit-esque takes are not worthy of HN.
