kodjima33··on Show HN: Omi – watches your screen, hears conversations, tells you what to do
You can but don't you think that these days our brains are too precious to think about small stupid things

I'd rather listen to an AI for small things and use my brain on smth big and creative that AI cannot think about

Omi | https://omi.me | Founding Engineer | SF, can start remote | Full-time | 1-10% equity | $120k+/year

Omi is a wearable AI memory that helps you recall everything important and make decisions. Put it on, speak, transcribe, summarize, automatically. In 10 months, we hit 300k users, 100M+ views, shipped 3 hardware prototypes and raised $2m from Tim Draper.

I'm Nik (Thiel Fellow, sold 2 startups incl. one to Toptal after scaling to $4M GMV). Omi is fast-moving, and looking for a founding engineer to join me. Ideal background: built/architected real products at scale (consumer or hardware).

Stack: Flutter (need to move to React Native) and C.

We move fast. You'll shape the future of wearable computing.

Email me: nik@basedhardware.com — send a note with your most badass achievement and Github. I reply to every good one.

kodjima33··on Show HN: Omi – Open-source AI wearable for capturing conversations
It's called "implied consent"

As long as you show people you are recording - it's legal

The necklace has a visible light when listening

kodjima33··on Show HN: Omi – Open-source AI wearable for capturing conversations
Similar but different: this is a productivity tool, it improves your life but doesn't replace your friends

Do you tell the same to millions of people who wear headphones and Meta Raybans?

Right now it connects directly to the internet! Still have to finish bluetooth stuff so that it could connect to the phone directly
kodjima33··on Whomane – An open source wearable with camera
Hey everyone! Nik, one of creators of Whomane here! Never expected to see a post on HN about our own product - thank you!

Not yet. Which apps would you like to see?
kodjima33··on Show HN: AI mentor in your iPhone that collects your memories and gives feedback
Damn these are amazing use-cases that we didn't even think of! Thank you so much for posting this

Will study thoroughly and implement it

kodjima33··on Show HN: AI mentor in your iPhone that collects your memories and gives feedback
We don't yet use RAG and collect memories time-based. Hoping to implement RAG soon For data privacy, we are adding 2 options to store your data: locally and on the server
kodjima33··on Show HN: AI mentor in your iPhone that collects your memories and gives feedback
We are adding a feature where you can select to only record your voice - other voices will be ignored

How: you'll calibrate your voice when opening an app

kodjima33··on Show HN: AI mentor in your iPhone that collects your memories and gives feedback
Thank you for pre-ordering, but as I mentioned in the post, the main difference is that it's just 7x cheaper than alternatives and already live (i.e. you can try it, versus other products you can't try yet cuz they are not released)
kodjima33··on Show HN: AI mentor in your iPhone that collects your memories and gives feedback
this is a great idea This is how we would solve it

1) We probably wouldn't add "modes" but we will add different "coaches" with different styles => for example if you need sales/pitching, you'll select "Tony Robbins", if you need a business person, you select Elon Musk

2) We will be able to solve your problem with "request'" So if you say "Hey Sama" and then, tell "Sama" to become "masterful negotiator coach" until the end of the day => it will become one

kodjima33··on Show HN: AI mentor in your iPhone that collects your memories and gives feedback
Hey! yes, this is on our roadmap for the next week! We plan to use Whisper and will calibrate with your voice like Siri does it.

We believe it's one of the most important features

we also want to make sure that everything Is privacy preserved and we don't record conversations other than the user's

kodjima33··on Show HN: AI mentor in your iPhone that collects your memories and gives feedback
Hi HN community, I'm Nik, Anhphu and Ansh

We built a proactive AI mentor that records your memory via iOS app or hardware and gives you feedback

Remembering real-life conversations and gaining insights from them is challenging. Whether it's for personal growth or effective communication, losing track of important details can be frustrating and counterproductive.

We built this app because we saw lots of wearable hardware but always wondered why you can’t use your phone to record memories and try this experience on the hardware you already have (your phone) without buying anything

Sama AI is an iOS app that listens to your conversations, offers feedback, and helps you retrieve specific details later. It's designed with a focus on privacy, ensuring only textual summaries are stored to respect user consent.

The main difference from other solutions is that it’s already a working product you can already try it on your phone before buying any hardware.

We plan to make money by offering subscriptions for additional features later. We also offer hardware “AI Pin” for $99 which is 7x cheaper than existing alternatives

We're here for your thoughts, experiences, and feedback. How can Sama AI better serve your needs? What features would you like to see? Thank you for any insights you can provide!

kodjima33··on AI wearable that records your voice 24/7: privacy invasion or the future?
Also, since I'm the creator of that tweet, I kindly ask everyone, instead of upvoting this post, to express their own opinion instead.

Since we launched, we mostly received only positive feedback so I'd like to see the negative side - should we actually continue working on this or just shut it down and return money back?

kodjima33··on AI wearable that records your voice 24/7: privacy invasion or the future?
Oh damn I didn't even know about this - so cool

Basically the article verifies that you can get a shit ton of value if done right and people get used to being recorded

kodjima33··on AI wearable that records your voice 24/7: privacy invasion or the future?
More and more AI wearables are being created but I've noticed lots of people being aggressively against any wearables.

Would you personally use smth like this? Or this is too privacy-invasive? Do you think peoples' behavior will eventually shift in 1-10 years so that eventually everyone will adopt and wear some kind of necklace with them?

kodjima33··on No code tool directory. Do people even use these?
mostly, they don't but there are some enterprise-level tools that do it pretty well.
kodjima33··on No code tool directory. Do people even use these?
There is a 2-3 years coding barrier till you become a "Junior" dev and can get hired. It requires access to quality education which people in developing countries simply do not have.

But since they are looking to earn money as well, they prefer to use no-code.

I'm talking from experience and from numbers: out of 60k no-code experts that we have, most of them (95%+) are from developing countries and not from developed ones

kodjima33··on No code tool directory. Do people even use these?
Do you think that no-code will move to enterprise or it will stay in "small business" area?
kodjima33··on No code tool directory. Do people even use these?
Flutterflow does it
kodjima33··on No code tool directory. Do people even use these?
There is a shit ton of people who use it - especially in the developing countries cuz the barrier is so small
kodjima33··on No code tool directory. Do people even use these?
I heard people like Framer
