There's this thing which goes by the name "Kunjalikutti fund" which isn't that trivial from what I heard ;)
I agree, its a fairly non-trivial amount of money.
Today, in TV there was news about a district in Kerala (Malappuram) having 50000 crores worth of old currency in the hands of various people there. The person whom the reporter interviewed was an agent who sold these old notes to some people for a percentage of the value of the old notes. They didn't say for what purpose the old notes are bought. A friend of mine who knows some Gujrathi cloth merchants in Kochi's main market was told these old notes are bought so that its thread can be taken for counterfeiting new notes.
Warning: He writes in a very colloquial lang sprinkled with what he thinks is right. Be your own judge.

George Sudarshan was nominated about 5 times and never got it.
That nails it.
Going off tangent here:
On a macro scale, the devices in our hands are executing output from another machine. This output is usually processed by a browser or a native app.
To make our lives easier, browsers need to be more like OSes, otherwise, we have to write code for each platform for executing the same thing - like the present native app scenario. (aware that we can use hybrid dev, but they aren't entirely satisfactory). WebAssembly holds some promise it seems. Or does it?
Browsers will become more powerful and perhaps would become the most important part of an OS. Maybe eventually, the borders between the browser and the OS will merge and the huge collection of devices and servers would look like a distributed OS of sort.
Another thing is the tooling for present web dev scene which needs to lighten. Setting up tooling takes more work than actual dev at times ;)
Sorry for your loss pal. Lets hope things look up soon.
The thing which is currently confusing and causing slowdown is GST implementation. Most businesses don't know what to do. This is to be expected. Feels like the govt wasn't fully ready with a streamlined implementation.
Haha who knows. I guess a global cultural/and social change probably made people less "responsible". So this mandated a ban? Doesn't look so sound.
I guess there are some issues which most people don't wanna touch on. The constant demonisation made it a taboo. If some people feel there's some vested interest behind it, we don't have solid proof. But feelings/intuition doesn't need such proofs ;)
But I wonder what made weed illegal in most countries? I assume it happened not so long ago. Perhaps a century.
