This, it get's overlooked so much. It feels almost arrogant when a VC thinks like that. Yes I can get some friends working parttime on my startup but going fulltime? They also have rent to pay.

But I also think lot of pitch decks witha team slide contain parttimers but just don't tell the VC.

Living in Utrecht I can say: it's amazing, going to work? 10 minutes, going to the station? 10 minutes. Basically anything is within maximum 20 minutes cycling distance. In the rare occasion I do take the car, the city is still surprisingly accessible.

The only thing I hope they will change in the future is removing motorised vehicles from the bicycle lanes, scooters/e-bikes are just too fast and break the whole flow of traffic. Seeing that scooters are already banned from the cycling lanes in Amsterdam I think it will happen soon in Utrecht.

I was just thinking that, fully agree. One of the things I learned from startup school: Get people to pay asap. If you are really are solving a problem they do not care that your website is a bit buggy and it's made with bootstrap.

All these platforms rake in millions of VC money to get market share (that is fine btw) but if you do not know how to monetize it, what is the point? And of course always being free and then moving to a paid model doesn't make your users really happy.

I also seem to have to pay 5$ a month now, I can get past it with some element hiding and cookie clearing but seems like medium is not the ideal solution anymore

What I have done is make a simple gatbsy starter and have components for signup/contact etc. all ready. And wrap everything with a bootstrap theme.

On average I spend 2 hours setting up a new landing page.

Haha yes, it would be fun (as a dev) to look back at those meetings and see who promised what
