kkotak··on Show HN: Axiom – No-code Browser Automation
The sentence is misleading. I think you meant to say -

"All data is stored locally on your machine and not on our server".

kkotak··on Uber is laying off 3,700, as rides plummet due to Covid-19
There is no competition because the business is not sustainable. Not everyone gets to raise billions of dollars on a promise of self-driving future - where the per unit economy might be sustainable. When that happens there will be tons of competition.
kkotak··on Uber is laying off 3,700, as rides plummet due to Covid-19
No one expects them to survive. The business model is unsustainable on unit economy basis. Uber has always lived on borrowed time.
kkotak··on California sues Uber and Lyft, claiming workers are misclassified
If AB5 was written for protecting the workers then they should've been given an opt-out option for those who don't need/want a change.
kkotak··on Ask HN: How will Apple change their Face Recognition to accommodate for masks?
I wonder if they bring back fingerprint in new phones.
kkotak··on Small business rescue earned banks $10B in fees
Thanks @monocasa - I do see the grayed out text and can associate that with down votes. But I've also seen people commenting on Non-grayed out comments that people are downvoting it. It feels like they're seeing something I don't.
kkotak··on Magic Leap reportedly slashes jobs and steps away from consumer plans
Sounds like Theranos of Tech.
kkotak··on Small business rescue earned banks $10B in fees
Where do you see the upvote/downvote counts on HN?
kkotak··on 50%+ of Small Biz say they will close soon. We built a site to save 90% of them.
I think you need to have some measure of what size of pledge makes sense for survival of a business. $1000 donated to a local restaurant won't help them survive, is that's all they got - and donors pledge is really wasted.
kkotak··on Launch HN: Zynq (YC W20) – Book meetings instantly with your team
At the moment I'm not using any auto calendaring app, but sharing my availability through external interactions. Happy to help further if you'd like. kkotak at gmail dot com.
kkotak··on Launch HN: Zynq (YC W20) – Book meetings instantly with your team
Both, I guess. For repeated tasks, there are times when I need to take over something unexpected. Are you accounting for all calendars in the view or just the logged in account?
kkotak··on Launch HN: Zynq (YC W20) – Book meetings instantly with your team
Thanks @zerzar. Unfortunately this changes for me, and I'd think for others, from week to week.
kkotak··on Launch HN: Zynq (YC W20) – Book meetings instantly with your team
Good deal! I think this will require people to block off times on their calendar when they don't want to do a meeting. Not all available slots in my calendar are up for grab.
kkotak··on Ask HN: What projects are you working on now?
How's this different from QuantConnect and Quantopian? Also, people are not very open about their strategies.
kkotak··on Ask HN: What projects are you working on now?
Cool idea! But dat room tho! :)
kkotak··on Ask HN: What projects are you working on now?
I've been using Dropmark (https://www.dropmark.com/) for collecting and sharing movie titles.
kkotak··on A Mysterious Song on the Internet (2019)
Exactly! I don't see why the obsession amongst all the people who are trying to trace it down. There are millions of songs like this that are lost in obscurity. In other news, I have a cool looking pebble that no one knows which beach it came from. Off to starting a subreddit about it so people have something to do with their time :)
kkotak··on The X-Windows Disaster (1994)
I think first successful implementation of Client-Server OS (and wide adoption in the banking industry) was BTOS/CTOS that was developed by Burroughs Technologies (BTOS) and then continued by Convergent Technologies (CTOS). It was sweet to works with - with modular Hardware and built in debugger on the CLI!

kkotak··on Your New Medical Credit Score Could Deny You Care
I bet 'Likely to be litigious' score is part of that Score. Physicians and hospitals would kill to see such a score before they start treating new patients
kkotak··on An Update on Bradfitz: Leaving Google
Just curious why "Leaving Google" posts is put on the front page by HN.
kkotak··on Super-Spreader
Fascinating how these events are traced and studied. Most compelling one for HIV traced to 1959 in Congo - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_HIV/AIDS#History_of...

Personally, I prefer Rap :)

kkotak··on Video Shows Ukrainian Airliner Being Hit over Iran NYT
I continue to be amazed by how much of the life/world is captured on mobile phone cameras and satellites nowadays. Someone pointing their camera towards the plane just when the missile hits it is astounding!
