Yet somehow you protect those people and not me. Sorry I can not respect you for that.
I did nothing in this thread that is against the guidelines whatsoever. And not in my previous comments, either.
The only thing I did I guess is to voice an opinion or inconvenient truth that you personally don't like. I can see no other explanation for it.
Perhaps it is the comment on the "personal pronouns", because you belong to the group of people pushing that new ideology. But I did not even say you should not indulge people's request for their pronouns, just that people should not be forced to use them against their own convictions. As I explained, there is a clear analogy to the pronouns issue from the "personal manual", that is why I chose to mention it, because it is a well known issue.
Honestly, I just don't know what personal issue you seem to have with me.
How is that "taking threads into flamewar hell"?
How many threads did you have to go back in my timeline to make the claim that I "always do that"? I clicked several pages and found nothing, even defending your own Sam Altman from insults in one of them.
You are also clearly imagining things, I never said I would be against getting to know people or colleagues. I am against enforced individual rulebooks.
And yes, I admit the word "snowflakes" popped up in my head.
Ultimately you have no right to intrude on my brain, sorry.
"Would you be ‘abused’ if I mentioned my same-sex spouse and it violated your assumed reality?"
Probably not because I could see that your spouse has the same sex as you, so it wouldn't violate my perception? I don't get the point of your example.
The point of the "publicly state you believe in something that is obviously not true" is a symbolic subjugation of the person made to do it. It is "swearing in" to the ideology. Like Gallileo announcing publicly that the sun revolves around the earth.
(I personally still use Eclipse)
Coops based on voluntary participation are entirely compatible with capitalism, you can already set up a coop today in capitalist countries. Socialism is not voluntary, it forces everybody to participate. It is the most exploitative system, because everybody is supposed to only work for the common good, not for themselves. It also sets the wrong incentives which is why it usually ends in misery.
It is an ongoing massively multiplayer game which also incurs server costs, so I don't think asking for a voluntary subscription is too much.
I uninstalled it for two days, so I really don't have a guilty conscience of secretly liking young girls or whatever. It was ultimately just annoying.
It seems really off to accuse random people on the internet to be attracted to kids.
What I was saying is that I was shown young women, but it still annoyed me.
As for attraction - that is what TikTok's algorithm started out with, and I liked some of them, because why not? As I said, they are cute and they put in the effort to do some funny stunts or whatever. I didn't dislike them, so why not press "like"? Doesn't mean I want to see those girls all the time. Also yeah, I am a heterosexual male, so young women are attractive to me.
I probably would have liked a lot of cat videos, too, if TikTok had shown them to me. Doesn't mean I want to see cat videos all the time, either, and also not that I am sexually attracted to cats.
I only tried TikTok for maybe two days, so I really think it is a failure of the algorithm, not a reveal of my subconsciousness.
Since everybody was raving about the TikTok algorithm, which is what made me try it out in the first place, I assumed that I wouldn't have to be super careful in "training" the algorithm. Apparently I assumed wrong.
At first coming with "old gamer mindset" I also thought "who would ever pay for that nonsense". But now I simply see it as supporting a creation I enjoy. I buy the "battle pass" every season (maybe 8$), and every couple of months perhaps a funny skin.
Back in the day, I think a World of Warcraft subscription was 15$ per month, so I still pay far, far less than I would have paid for WoW.
There are other games that annoy me, as they basically push gambling onto my kids. They will literally have a push notification telling them to try a spin on the lucky wheel.
Marxism wasn't a success story in the real world, either.
As for wealthy people being not natural, as I said, usually you become wealthy by giving people something they want or need. That is the best thing to reward in a society.
What do you mean by "natural power imbalances", like somebody having more muscles than others? Then why can't you imagine that some are better businessmen than others, too? Was Steve Jobs just an evil guy becoming rich by exploiting his employees, or did he become rich because he made the world a better place for billions of people? Would the world have been better if Steve Jobs had been shot down at an early stage to give somebody else a "fair chance" in his place?
So I guess you have to be super disciplined to get a nice TikTok feed? Or just try it long enough? Or it only works for women, because they may click less on young dancing girls?
And nothing in capitalism says you have to value buying a yacht higher than anything else. There is also no rule that says capitalism should have no laws whatsoever.
Power is also a good thing, for example being able to cure cancer or feed people is a power.
