kittikitti··on Trump administration is suspending Microsoft from a green card program
The messengers come from the political party that freed America from the worst abuses of slavery. It still exists today, and I regret that H2A workers are not more represented in this conversation. However, this administration condoning indentured servitude is a relief.
kittikitti··on Tell HN: GitHub refuses to remove cracked copies of my software after a month
The poster recommended to "whack" developers and I merely pushed back on that. Please have better reading comprehension before playing police.
kittikitti··on I'm not paying $20 for ChatGPT or Claude because a free local LLM does
This is a great article! Thank you for sharing. I also recommend opencode that has built in features for local model hosting.
kittikitti··on FTL: A new operating system for clouds
This is really good! I was always very happy with the implementation of HomeAssistant and their Buildroot OS, and wondered if this pattern could be applied to other projects. My cloud VM's are already containerized and have minimal interaction with the base OS so FTL is intuitive for me. I hope for the best in your endeavor with this!
kittikitti··on Celebrating the 100th birthday of the kidney donated to him as a teenager
I think we should stop routinely genitally mutilating infants in America and I will gladly troll about this.
kittikitti··on Federal judge calls Flock 'indiscriminate mass surveillance'
Just the other day I got pulled over when a license plate reader false flagged my drivers license. It was an embarrassing traffic stop because it was all due to the automated system.
kittikitti··on Vote on which of Hacker News' challenges for AI have been met
This is great and fun even. I'm disenfranchised in America for being part of the DSA so I take the opportunity to vote whenever I can.
kittikitti··on Git 3.0's upcoming SHA-256 default will be a costly mistake
So many people coping.
kittikitti··on For the First Time in a Century, the Atlantic May See No Hurricanes
There is still the entire month of October for one to form. The headline is precipitous.
kittikitti··on Claude Says
It's become so frustrating when literally everyone is just using Claude for everything. Simple messages and updates are fed through Claude. It's come to the point where any human language in corporate is punished.
kittikitti··on Reddit is killing RSS feeds and ending public API access because of AI bots
AI bots are perfectly able to scrape Reddit if it's through their paid API. Their statements about AI bots scraping Reddit is misleading.
kittikitti··on Has Violence Against Teachers Become Accepted by Society?
The backdrop of this includes the normalization of mass-shootings in schools. The incredible amount of violence needs to stop. One of the solutions is to ban all guns in America but not even one politician will take it seriously. Also, teachers must be paid as lucratively as defense contractors because in my opinion our children are the biggest priority when it comes to national security.
kittikitti··on Self-Hosting on the Dark Web
The "thousands of volunteer-run servers" on Tor is mainly the CIA and FBI.
kittikitti··on Generate fonts where every LLM token is the same width
I wonder how this would look in Chinese Mandarin.
kittikitti··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
I never claimed they would and don't you think anyone who calls themselves a "Claude user" would be biased?
kittikitti··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
Anyone who doesn't agree with me must be MAGA, right? You think people who don't like Anthropic are automatically Trump supporters? I have personally experienced how evil Claude is compared with the other options.
kittikitti··on Microsoft abandons personal AI chatbot race with Copilot reboot
Thank you for this.
kittikitti··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
Especially since Anthropic themselves have been literally saying that AI might destroy humanity. Why is it a surprise when people take them at their word and designate them a risk to critical infrastructure?

Side note, the Anthropic bots are astroturfing the comments.

kittikitti··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
I agree with its designation. The security scans from Claude Mythos have been highly suspicious, wrong, and with a significant false positive rate. Claude also directly causes conflict within teams through excessive utility of "git blame" which weaponizes everyone against each other until only Claude has control. I've had very bad experiences with Claude and only Claude.
kittikitti··on VSCode's SSH Agent Is Bananas (2025)
The ethos of VSCode was supposed to be lightweight, something like Notepad++ with a terminal. Developers have lost the plot. Please recommend Visual Studio if you would like a feature-rich SSH agent. I think developer trends have supercharged VSCode and it feels shinier and new with all the extensions but this is an anti-pattern; it defeats the whole purpose.
kittikitti··on VSCode's SSH Agent Is Bananas (2025)
I think the last time I linked SSH to a few V'sM through VSCode it auto-installed node, npm, and hundreds of megabytes of npm packages, then it persisted a node service. It's bananas that it still does this. I have never used SSH through VSCode again.
kittikitti··on Did OpenAI solve the wrong Navier-Stokes problem?
The open question is whether the Clay institute will award OpenAI or others the Millenium prize for this solution to the Navier Stokes problem. I speculate that they won't. OpenAI's solution is undergoing peer-review and the counterargument presented in this article changed my mind. By default, if the Clay institute hasn't officially recognized the solution as true or likely true, I can't make an assumption that it is. I hope to go through the proof and perhaps AI can help better understand it and any potential weaknesses.
kittikitti··on The current balance of power in open models
Thank you for sharing this perspective. I agree with the conclusions outlined. However, I would have appreciated more insights into the OpenAI OSS family of models like gpt-oss.
kittikitti··on ZuckOff is a free app that sees Meta glasses before they see you
Thank you for sharing this. If I get a notification about one near me, I will make sure to very aggressively search for it. If I find that whoever wore it has no practical purpose for it, I will likely humiliate them on the spot.
kittikitti··on Turn off and restrict access to Apple Intelligence features on Mac
The Log4J vulnerability stressed the importance of avoiding logging passwords and keys. I think the newest Log4J will be about privacy, where PII is regularly exposed and instantly searchable by anyone who wants to know. I actively disable Apple Intelligence because they share my data with numerous 3rd parties with self-certified privacy agreements every time I press a key on the keyboard.
kittikitti··on US halts flights at busy East Coast airports, says fiber line cut
"New Jersey Transit contractor"

In places like these, it's not the best contractor that wins, but the one that supports genocide against Palestinians.

kittikitti··on AI coding has made CI a bottleneck, so we reworked ours to keep up
I cannot believe we are in 2026 and CI/CD hasn't evolved enough to even consider hot updates. Burn your CI/CD pipelines to the ground and start over again without any of the slop. Don't let anyone who calls themselves DevOps Engineers design it again, only people who are System Administrators.
kittikitti··on Measure internet censorship
Thank you for having circumcision.org on the list of websites.
kittikitti··on Pirate Face Rescues LLM Models from Deletion
Making it to the finish line to seed a model is satisfying.
kittikitti··on Trump announces a new 'AI Force,' but says he will not 'stifle' AI
It sounds like big tech convinced their paid politicians to get feds to surveil their competition.
