I've recently read The Passionate Programmer and was rather disappointed.

The book has a few very valuable insights. For the most part it reads like a series of blog posts from a slightly experienced developer.

So wait, some geniuses came along and banged out the OS of the future, in the smallest purest form they could, and now decades later, just because our computers have improved, you think it logical to ditch the philosophy that got us here???

My two wishes: 1) vim style editing as an option 2) support static languages with every feature but the real time debugging, if need be.

My second wish may seem like it is missing one of the main, most beneficial features. But the other features are enough, such as " Multiple editors with just one function in it." or "Show code in an area of concern"
