Until they have real metrics around how often Siri fails they will continue to think that their correct response rate is great.

I assume checking the box to not use this setting will work the same way but I want to make sure I switch it back. Just like how Tesla prompts you intermittently.
"Would Tim Berners-Lee have used a BeBox to run the world’s first web server instead?"
The BeBox didn't ship until 1995. Tim Berners-Lee wrote the first version of the web in 1991. So nope, that wouldn't have happened.
I find the new books to be about things that are very low stakes, like an ad agency, or rich people from the future messing with people as a hobby. Because of that I'm less engaged.
But even with the low stakes the language is very high minded. I spend a lot of time with the lookup feature, which makes me glad I use an e-reader.
There is a huge price gap between the 3 and the S now and the differences between the cars is so slight that it doesn't make sense to buy an S today. Even worse the S and X haven't had their interior update yet so they look old compared to the 3.
I guess I’m surprised that the LA Times would publish a claim like that without comment or caveat.
1. The user was filling out a form that was sent to me.
2. I would email hotels asking if they had suites available on the users dates.
3. I would enter their responses manually and the app would send a push notification to the user to see what I had entered.
4. Payment and everything else was done over email.
It looked legit, and during its peak I was doing it up to a hundred times a day. We are directly connected to hotels now so this doesn't happen anymore thankfully.

Just adding a small "That isn't what I asked" button or letting me say something like "Hey Siri, you got my last request wrong" would give Apple a mountain of usable data.
1. Brand Safety - The hotels we work with are high-end luxury resorts and they don't want to be seen as discounted.
2. Limited inventory - Many of the suites we sell are one of a kind like penthouses.
3. Technology limitations - This is a huge one but most hotel reservation systems max out at 4 adult occupancy. They can't just put these suites on the GDS.
4. Personal approvals - Some of the suites have decor like $50K vases that if they are broken they are out of commission for weeks.
So we had to overcome all of these issues before we could sign the first hotel. But by overcoming them and bringing great customers to the hotel the sales process has become easier (not easy, easier). I hope that helps.
