ketanhwr··on Clawdbot Renames to Moltbot
Apparently "clawbot" wasn't allowed either: https://x.com/steipete/status/2016091353365537247
ketanhwr··on Ask HN: Share your personal website
I'm in the process of re-designing it, but for now it's just an introductory message: https://ketanhwr.in
ketanhwr··on Show HN: OpenWorkers – Self-hosted Cloudflare workers in Rust
I'm curious what bugs you encountered. workerd does power the local runtime when you test CF workers in dev via wrangler, so we don't really expect/want it to be buggy..
ketanhwr··on Finding a Bug in Chromium
> A conforming JavaScript implementation, even one that does garbage collection, is not required to call cleanup callbacks.

Really looking forward to the "Explicit Resource Management" proposal[0] that sounds like a much better idea really.

ketanhwr··on Life is not short
Maybe you'll agree with this (really good) argument against stoicism: https://simonsarris.substack.com/p/stoicism-is-not-enough
ketanhwr··on Roblox October Outage Postmortem
It's perf-report[0] which reads the output of a perf data file and displays the profile.

ketanhwr··on Ask HN: What Are You Learning?
Not OP but I'm going through "Alfred's Basic Adult All in One Course" book series. It assumes no prior piano/theory knowledge and is one of the most recommended books on r/piano.
ketanhwr··on I Miss the Old Internet (2019)
+1 for "Welcome to the Internet". I was thinking exactly of that song when I read the post!
ketanhwr··on I quit my job to focus on SerenityOS full time
Following this for almost 3 years now, it really is an amazing achievement. His YouTube streams are very helpful in learning a lot about Systems, Unix and good programming methodologies. Cheers to him for taking the leap of faith!
ketanhwr··on Time flies in Google Earth’s biggest update in years

ketanhwr··on Show HN: Lofi.cafe
Nice one, but my CPU fans got really loud (normally this loud when I play games) xD. I'm not a web developer, but I'm pretty sure this is something that can be fixed :)
ketanhwr··on Beating Up on Qsort (2019)
Andrei has a pretty amazing CppCon talk similar to this: https://youtu.be/FJJTYQYB1JQ
ketanhwr··on “I've had to relearn coding to get through the new interviews”
so you're just saying that if the system sucks, then instead of talking about it and trying to raise awareness about how bad it is so that we can possibly come up with a solution, your solution is just to "suck it up"?
ketanhwr··on I Feel Like I Have No Real Interests; My Only Interest Is Making Money
That sounds like something an anti-vaxxer would say; haha just kidding
ketanhwr··on Ask HN: How do you switch off from work, particularly when working from home?
I think this is what he's talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snAhsXyO3Ck

Even if it isn't - this is a must watch video!

ketanhwr··on You could have invented fractional cascading (2012)
Edward Yang's blog is an absolute gem.
ketanhwr··on What every scientific programmer should know about compiler optimizations?
I'm seeing these kind of titles (what every X programmer should know about Y) quite frequently which seems like the trend of adding "for humans" in front of library names.
ketanhwr··on Why do so few people major in computer science? (2017)
> existentialist crisis of computer science education

Exactly what I've been facing for the past few months. I graduated as a CS Major last year, and I've already started doubting it.

No clue how to deal with it

ketanhwr··on I've screwed up plenty of things too
'Severity'. Normally stands for a severe issue on going. They even have levels. SEV3 -> SEV2 -> SEV1 goes from low to highest form of severity.
ketanhwr··on Uber sells food delivery business in India to Zomato
Well, the Uber cab sector is going pretty good in India from what I know. We don't have Grab here, and only a few local competitors which people don't rely on much (apart from Ola Cabs).
ketanhwr··on Ask HN: Are Lucene/Solr/ES Still Used for Search?
Atilika (https://www.atilika.com/en/) uses Lucene/Solr for their NLP based search products.
ketanhwr··on Decoded: GNU Coreutils
This guy has some really nice articles, but I'm unavailable to find any link to his RSS feed. Any help?
ketanhwr··on Ask HN: How do you talk to your GitHub community?
Use Reddit! Create a public/private subreddit (whatever suits you). It's a perfect place for discussions, and you can use IFTTT to provide you with webhooks.
