kesavkolla··on Ask HN: Any recommended Nginx log analyzer?
I've used goaccess https://goaccess.io/

It's single binary and you can do lot of analysis using it

kesavkolla··on Ask HN: Have you switched from a MacBook to a Linux laptop?
Yes I did the switch. I'm a programmer so switch didn't cause any major problems for me. I'm using HUAWEI mate book. Trackpad is good no problem whatsoever. Only issue I always face with Ubuntu is it's audio volume. It's way lower than Mac or windows
kesavkolla··on Ask HN: What is the best specification you ever read?
My top pick is HTTP
kesavkolla··on Ask HN: Who will buy Dropbox?
Apple should buy. Apple has no foot in cloud services. They should get rid of iCloud and buy Dropbox. This will give Apple some ground in the cloud services
kesavkolla··on Is there an app like Duolingo and ChineseSkill to learn Sanskrit?
I'm interested too.
kesavkolla··on Is there really no FOSS equivalent to SAP?
The bottom line with not tech industries is that they don't want to deal with IT implementations and it's risks. They're ok to spend huge money and go with popular software. That way if something goes wrong in implementation they can blame SAP. On other hand if own implementation goes wrong the VP/manager gets accountable. It's the risk blame game.
kesavkolla··on Ask HN: Do you pay for a commercial server OS (Solaris, RedHat..)? Why? Why not
It's like paying home insurance. If something breaks down we can point to these support company and say I'm waiting on their reply. Most of the time the support is useless as they say it's your custom code blah we don't support it.

Lot of times Google search is faster than getting an answer from support. Most of the support is outsourced and they're not developers. They take product manual and will instruct things like did you reboot it or did you kill the process and reboot. We pay for these kind of nonsense trouble shooting.

kesavkolla··on Ask HN: What password managers (if any) do you recommend?
I'm using 1Password on my Mac and iPhone. So far it's great. I miss ubuntu version of it.
