kentwistle··on Show HN: NoFile.io – A simple file storage site with lots of perks
FAQ says "What's the file size limit?: 10 GB."

Tried to upload a 9.66 GB test file but am getting following error message

"File Size Limit This file is too large. The largest file size that can be uploaded is 1.25 GB"

What am I doing wrong?

kentwistle··on Show HN: Dply – Free temporary Linux servers
I selected the wrong SSH key to add to my server and now have to wait 2 hours to rectify my mistake.

Cool service though!

This is the underwater dive pool referenced http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/08_01/38MHouseES_468x477...
kentwistle··on Slow database test fallacy
Am I only the only one that doesn't find 'All tests in 4 minutes, all model tests in 80 seconds' very impressive? It sounds like a really long time to me.

You know what could increase the speed dramatically.... decoupling.

I also think decoupling phrased in the context of the Rails 2 to Rails 3 upgrade, where pretty much everything changed, makes perfect sense. Imagine just having a few wrapper classes that spoke to Rails and only having to adapt them. Sounds good to me!

kentwistle··on BeWifi lets you steal your neighbor’s bandwidth when they’re not using it
This looks awesome
kentwistle··on Dishwasher Cooking: Make Your Dinner While Cleaning The Plates
Title is misleading. The article clearly states that you cannot add any washing solution. So you cannot clean your plates, at the same time.
kentwistle··on [dead]
Why?
kentwistle··on Switching to DuckDuckGo and Firefox
Looks good! Omnibar instantly makes Firefox more familiar. I have decided to switch back to Mozilla, they seem far more ethical than any competing browser vendor. So I too am going to switch for a while. Firefox & DuckDuckGo.
kentwistle··on Mac OS Screenshot does not Allow DVD Player to Appear in Captured Region
I think if you use VLC you can circumvent this despicable attack upon our freedoms.
kentwistle··on Why Geeks Get Bullied (It's Not Necessarily for Being Geeks)
Obviously picked on him because he's so smart and brilliant. Some birds aren't meant to be caged, their feathers are just too bright.

kentwistle··on Ex-Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher dies, aged 87
May God rest her soul, her memory will never be forgotten.
kentwistle··on Show HN: Gem to search for random domain names
This is a really cool gem, great work :)

The only issue I have noticed is some of the domains it generates are not actually available because they're too short, for example 'im.li' or 'li.in'

kentwistle··on The Ultimate Guide to Dropshipping
Does anyone have any experience with pixmania-pro drop shipping? I am specifically looking for a merchant that sell automated vacuum cleaners. (iRobot / Samsung)
kentwistle··on Why Hating Your Shitty Job Only Makes It Worse
This is some rich dude bitching about the bad customers service he received at the weekend while shopping.
kentwistle··on Google Publishes Detailed Map of North Korea
Finally! I have been waiting ages for this functionality. Every time I browsed to North Korea it was just a blank gray collection of pixels.

Next step street view!

kentwistle··on An Amaz-ing Resume
The 5 out of 5 stars (233) link sends you to Amazon "Mr. Coffee ECMP50" page. This is very confusing.

I think the idea is novel.

kentwistle··on Metasploit Rails 3 Remote Code Execution Hours Away
Thanks for this reminder. Yesterday I went through all the apps that matter to me but today I fixed all the apps on the box.
kentwistle··on Regexper: Beautiful regexp visualizations
This website is awesome! Instantly bookmarked.

Suggestions

1) it would be really nice if you could allow the user to share a regex with a friend. IE http://www.regexper.com/shared/some_unique_slug will display my saved regex

2) Add a Favicon

Great work thanks for creating this

kentwistle··on New Year's Resolutions: Improve Habits With an RPG
I tried to login with facebook but got the following error message "Cannot GET /auth/facebook" then, when trying to visit the homepage I got the error "Cannot GET /"

It seems to be working again but I think I triggered an error 500
