kelipso··on Pentagon Influencer Called Liberal Women 'Pestilence' Who Will End Civilization
Maybe there are reasons why religions that did that died out..
kelipso··on Everybody’s home. No one’s coming over
Lol.
kelipso··on Everybody’s home. No one’s coming over
Wow lol, picture perfect comment, in 2026 too.
kelipso··on Everybody’s home. No one’s coming over
Yeah that’s the fun thing about science, you can pretend to address things too. Seriously though, there is no way I am trusting some random researcher making a youtube video…like what is that. I am a researcher and I can make nonsense youtube videos about things too and throw some science flair around it for good measure.
kelipso··on Everybody’s home. No one’s coming over
The fun thing about science is that it’s not hard to find science backing X claim, and one can keep going on about that, while ignoring all the science backing not X claim.
kelipso··on Everybody’s home. No one’s coming over
Lol, that you are not aware of these people is a concept so foreign to me that I kind of suspect you are joking. There are many people in my life who struggle with both, more people than who don’t..
kelipso··on Does Reddit have an astroturfing problem? What the data suggests
Every interesting question just shows a bunch of deleted comments, so I stopped looking at it a while ago.
kelipso··on How Delhi cut electricity loss from 50 to 5 percent
At least a quarter of tech professionals in Silicon Valley are born in India. So I would guess a quarter to a third or more of the posters here are Indian origin.

India accounts for a big portion of the english speaking internet, so I wouldn’t be surprised if half the posters here are Indian origin.

kelipso··on 9 Ads per Minute: FIFA Cup 26 – "the price of the beautiful game"
Probably Palestine related issues. Can they even talk about that stuff there without getting arrested?
kelipso··on What Zig felt like, coming from Rust
It can be used as a marketing trick, possibly because of the logic in GP post. Marketing people use this to trick people, which is different from it being a marketing trick in and of itself.
kelipso··on Pentagon weighs pulling nearly a third of U.S. forces from Europe
It’s going to be very sleepy even after it wakes up.
kelipso··on 25 years of mass surveillance is enough
Or it means you are delusional and they are talking common sense.
kelipso··on Whoisinspace.com/
I don’t really understand the purpose of these cope posts anymore. It’s getting comical at this point.
kelipso··on NSF memo implementing Trump's 'golden age' of science unsettles researchers
Science will generally get painted with a broad brush by the public. Epidemiologists politicize their field for a few years and consequently biology and medicine gets seen as political by the public.
kelipso··on NSF memo implementing Trump's 'golden age' of science unsettles researchers
Fully predictable result of politicizing science. Really, I blame the scientists for it.
kelipso··on 25 years of mass surveillance is enough
The ideology is too tied in with their identity, so you’re not going to persuade them of anything lol.
kelipso··on Julia 1.13 highlights
It’s funny, it’s actually issue number 5 in the julia github, so lots of history. I am guessing, but in addition to it being difficult to pick a solution, it’s probably because once they pick a solution, they can’t take it back and they wanted that flexibility. And as time went on ad hoc solutions and SimpleTraits became popular, and the calculus becomes how much they want to disrupt the current code to the potential benefits of the solution.
kelipso··on LG says we're fake news [video]
Wifi exists now lol, and if there are open wifi networks in the vicinity, it can use it.
kelipso··on LG Says We're Fake News [video]
Disconnect it from the internet, buy a streaming device, and use the streaming device. It’s really not that complicated.

If you want a bit complicated, you can probably unscrew the back panel and remove the wifi card.

kelipso··on Eating Fruit Skins
Haha literally ate kiwi with skin on for the first time today. It’s a lot nicer, you just rinse it and eat it!
kelipso··on Houthis 'take control' of key island in global shipping route
Strategic / economic interests have always outweighed cultural issues / human rights. The women, gays, infidel line is purely to get political support or deflect political criticism from a portion of the population.
kelipso··on Houthis 'take control' of key island in global shipping route
You say this while defending a country that is systematically killing children and conducting a genocide.
kelipso··on Growing proof that autonomous cars save lives
That’s not how the brain works. It is evolutionary adapted to stay alert for out of distribution events.
kelipso··on Growing proof that autonomous cars save lives
You are avoiding cars constantly when driving with a non-zero amount of traffic. Way more incidents than predators in the savanna while doing persistence hunting.
kelipso··on Stockfish 19
Created Feb or March this year it looks like lol.
kelipso··on Isar Aerospace reaches orbit and deploys payloads on second flight
That's literally what they don't want... so how does what you said make sense?
kelipso··on Isar Aerospace reaches orbit and deploys payloads on second flight
No, it’s a very strong indicator that a peace deal will never be signed until unconditional surrender. Because concerns about NATO troops in Ukraine is main reason why Russia started this.
kelipso··on Isar Aerospace reaches orbit and deploys payloads on second flight
> he signed a declaration of intent to do that if a peace deal with Russia is made

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know a Ukraine-Russia peace deal will never be signed.

kelipso··on One corner of China’s internet is insisting that the Tang Dynasty never existed
Ok…so they read the same article or watched the same video that went viral. And people repeat what’s in the article or video because it makes sense. It’s a very very common phenomenon in the internet. People do it all the time. Does not imply conspiracy.
kelipso··on One corner of China’s internet is insisting that the Tang Dynasty never existed
“Talking points” for one man is simply the truth for another man. When you look at everything through a conspiracy lens, eventually the truth can become “talking points” and you end up in an island of delusion (I hope everyone still remembers the “vibecession” we had…, the inflation is not real actually, etc etc).

We seriously need to evaluate this “talking points” accusation lol. Propaganda accusations in general, they’re mindless and kills actual discussion.
