kehers··on Ask HN: What is everyone currently working on?
I am currently working on an opensource analytics and reporting dashboard for Mailgun:

https://suet.co https://github.com/kehers/suet

kehers··on Ask HN: What are some cool self-hosted tools like Sendy?
I built Suet - an analytics dashboard and reporting tool for Mailgun transactional mails.

kehers··on Ask HN: Why continue to use Firefox?
> 6. I like that typing in address bar checks only in history and bookmarks and the search bar is separate. In chrome, I often notice that search is given more priority over history.

Thought I was the only one that noticed this

kehers··on Re-Ask HN: When was J2ME apps Golden Rush? Success stories?
This should be 2006-13. Java and Symbian phones were really popular then, especially in developing countries. I had a relatively successful J2ME Twitter app called Twhii. It launched just months before Snaptu closed. It was totally free so I wasn't making money from it but it was widely used in many countries.
kehers··on Ask HN: What are some use cases for single-page apps?
Electron apps. (Cross platform apps that can be built with HTML, CSS, JS really).
kehers··on Ask HN: How would you monetize a curated newsletter list of 1K subscribers?
upstart.me? (Never tried it myself though)
kehers··on Ask HN: Projects that don't make you money but you're doing it out of sheer joy?
https://thefeed.press/

Built for personal use. Not currently making any money but hope to monetise sometime later.

kehers··on Show HN: Detailed analytics and reporting for your Mailgun transactional emails
This is a relatively new business model for me and I'm really hoping it works. (The big motivation though is that I use it for my other projects[1]). Suet is just around a month so I'm keenly just seeing how it goes for now. Depending on that, I guess I can always change pricing moving forward.

How has it been with trackingco.de? Thought of increasing price?

kehers··on Show HN: Detailed analytics and reporting for your Mailgun transactional emails
I created Suet because I wanted more detailed analytics of transactional emails I send for other projects. For one, I would love to be notified of failure deliveries and complaints. Then view performance in terms of opens and clicks and see who my top recipients are. These, and more, are the features of Suet.
kehers··on Show HN: Simple way to create a changelog for your product
It is a nice way to let users know of changes without taking them off the app page. I have been using headwayapp.co for my projects and will happily pay for it.
kehers··on Ask HN: What good alteratives are there to Google News?
For the most part, it is that the articles are extracted (Pocket/Instapaper style) for easy read.

If Twitter is your thing, see https://thefeed.press. Curates news links shared by your friends on Twitter
kehers··on A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Hardbound Update
Just by the way, you may want to check out this interview of Blinkist (a similar app)'s co-founder: https://mixergy.com/interviews/sebastian-klein-blinkist/
kehers··on Ask HN: How was your experience with AWS Lambda in production?
> What do you mean by retries If there is an error, the function will be retried: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/retries-on-error...

> Why would you upload node_modules It is required to: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/nodejs-create-de...

kehers··on Ask HN: How was your experience with AWS Lambda in production?
I've been using it for heavy background job for http://thefeed.press and overall, I think it's pretty ok (I use NodeJs). That said here are few things:

- No straight way to prevent retries. (Retries can crazily increase your bill if something goes wrong)

- API gateway to Lambda can be better. (For one, Multipart form-data support for API gateway is a mess)

- (For NodeJs) I don't see why the node_modules folder should be uploaded. (Google cloud functions downloads the modules from the package.json)

kehers··on Ask HN: Do you have a side project you want to sell?
http://thefeed.press - Easily follow articles shared by your Twitter friends.
kehers··on Ask HN: Visiting LA, want to know the tech neighbourhoods
I'd love to! Are you on Twitter?
kehers··on Ask HN: What do you do to blow off steam?
Play or learn something new on my acoustic guitar. Or a long walk.
kehers··on Ask HN: What do you do to blow off steam?
Lool
kehers··on GitHub Pages now runs Jekyll 2.2.0
As said, they are generated on Github. There are online content editors like http://prose.io and http://tinypress.co (for Github page blogging) though.
kehers··on What was your best passive income in 2014?
Ya. I worry about this too.
kehers··on What was your best passive income in 2014?
How did you market it at launch? Tips?
kehers··on What was your best passive income in 2014?
Did you do any "marketing" or publicize the books in anyway? Tips for anyone planning to write a book?
kehers··on .ng is the most dangerous cctld
I am against what NIRA did. It is indeed really outrageous. But you don't because of that say "a country is dangerous". The statement is way "bigger" than the context in discussion.
kehers··on .ng is the most dangerous cctld
That's a wrong and bogus thing to say.
kehers··on Sold just got acquired by Dropbox and closed their company
Sold sold. Nice pun :)
kehers··on Show HN: birthdays.im - Simple SMS reminder for birthdays.
It pulls friend's birthdays from your facebook profile.
kehers··on Launching your project to the world? Try these sites to get the word out
showinghn.com needs pagination though.
kehers··on Ask HN: How much recurring income do you generate, and from what?
This may be off topic but I'd love to where you registered your domain affordabl.es. Last I tried registering a .es tld, I got some "Syria residents/biz" restrictions.
kehers··on Ask HN: How much recurring income do you generate, and from what?
Can you possibly share a little of the stat (impressions maybe) that generates the $1k+ ?
