The "Super 7" are: Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent.

kdeldycke··on Cryptkeeper sets the same password “p” independently of user input
Maybe implementing a mandatory '--json' flag to all our favorite CLIs might solve the issue of parseable outputs once and for all.
kdeldycke··on Falsehoods programmers believe about video
Love that idea! Please help me compile a list there: https://github.com/kdeldycke/kevin-deldycke-blog/blob/master... :)
kdeldycke··on Falsehoods programmers believe about video
Managed to compile a list of these at: https://github.com/kdeldycke/awesome-falsehood#awesome-false...
kdeldycke··on MacOS FileVault2 Password Retrieval
I compiled all security enhancing configuration I found for macOS at: https://github.com/mathiasbynens/dotfiles/pull/686

Not sure these are mitigating the OP issue though. Still, can't be bad to harden macOS a little bit.

kdeldycke··on The Django Project Debates User Tracking
PyPi metrics are disabled for a while. At least for the legacy site: https://github.com/pypa/pypi-legacy/issues/484#issuecomment-...
kdeldycke··on Scaleway Global Expansion Starts in Amsterdam
ECC only mitigates RowHammer-like exploitations, it doesn't prevents them altogether.
kdeldycke··on Images of New MacBook Pro with Magic Toolbar Leaked in MacOS Sierra 10.12.1
No wonder the maintainer of Karabiner ( https://pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/ ), one of the most powerful keyboard customizer on OSX, had to start rewriting it from scratch for macOS. Maybe the underlaying keyboard/accessibility APIs in macOS have changed so much it forced a rewrite.

If that's the case then I'm starting to see the macOS major release policy as being as conservative as possible. I.e. no introduction of unnecessary changes unless it warrants advancements in hardware integration.

kdeldycke··on Torpedo Data Computer Mark 3 – Jun 1944 (2013)
Trigonometry is so dangerous the US Navy classified its access in 1944: https://twitter.com/kdeldycke/status/790891194561822720
kdeldycke··on Vim 8.0 released
This is misleading. Bram takes commit ownership of external contributors. Compare it to Neovim, which feels much more like a community: https://github.com/neovim/neovim/graphs/contributors
kdeldycke··on Falsehoods Programmers Believe About Names (2010)
Trying to compile a list of those at: https://github.com/kdeldycke/awesome-falsehood

Fell free to send pull requests! :)

kdeldycke··on Pendulum – Python datetimes made easy
Also manipulating datetimes for a living (telemetry + billing). The reason I stick with Arrow despite its slowing maintainership? Its ability to round up or down time along a granularity: http://crsmithdev.com/arrow/#arrow.arrow.Arrow.floor
kdeldycke··on Terraform 0.7 released
This release is the first one with built-in support for Scaleway as a provider: https://terraform.io/docs/providers/scaleway/
kdeldycke··on AI produces realistic sounds that fool humans
The Turing test in this case might consist of feeding the algorithm with a mute video of a scene from Monthy Python and the Holy Grail, when coconut halves are used to simulate the sound of galloping horses.
kdeldycke··on Cryogenically frozen RAM bypasses disk encryption methods (2008)
And here is the command to activate FileVault key destruction on stand by: https://github.com/kdeldycke/dotfiles/commit/32a01c08e196f87...
kdeldycke··on ZFS lands in Debian contrib
For the lazy:

    $ sudo apt install zfs-dkms zfsutils-linux
kdeldycke··on How fast can we make interpreted Python? (2013)
Comanche's voxels is an elevation map.
kdeldycke··on Libpostal: international street address parsing in C trained on OpenStreetMap
Was planning to use the same dataset too in my Python module: https://github.com/scaleway/postal-address

And thanks @bojanz for asking Google about their data's license! :)

Haven't looked in details at your addressing PHP module or even Libpostal, but I feel like there should be some ways to deduplicate efforts and converge all datasets. Both for testing and i18n/l10n.

In the mean time, OpenCageData's address-formatting language-neutral YAML structure seems quite nice.

kdeldycke··on Apple is hiring engineers to bring WebRTC to Safari
Install uBlock origin plugin, which has a "Prevent WebRTC from leaking local IP address" option: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Prevent-WebRTC-from-l...
kdeldycke··on Three to become first European mobile operator to block ads
Not the first one. French ISP Free/Iliad tried to block ads 2 years ago. But they backtracked: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/b13175be-59b0-11e2-b728-00144feab4...

Edit: Here is wikipedia entry of the AdBlock affair: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_(ISP)#Criticism

kdeldycke··on Ask HN: Is Python dying?
Couldn't agree more. Developing for the last couple of years code that is highly sensitive to dates and time, and Arrow saved my life.
kdeldycke··on Simpler cloud services try to undercut the established giants
I concur: it is a new trend and DigitalOcean or Backblaze are not the only one playing this game. I work for a start-up in this market. We also design our own hardware and software, all packaged under an IaaS offering: https://scaleway.com/faq/#-What-is-Scaleway
kdeldycke··on ARM server market
Even less than that, as price is monthly capped: https://scaleway.com/faq/billing/#-How-do-I-take-advantage-o...
kdeldycke··on ARMv7 dedicated servers for 3.40 per month
Maybe yes. I'm not part of the hardware team so I can't really tell. Was just quoting the FAQ here.
kdeldycke··on ARMv7 dedicated servers for 3.40 per month
Thanks ! :)
kdeldycke··on ARMv7 dedicated servers for 3.40 per month
Likely a side effect of French laws.
kdeldycke··on ARMv7 dedicated servers for 3.40 per month
Scaleway is part of the Iliad group, the third French ISP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iliad_SA

No need to worry about our infrastructure. Our datacenters are well connected: http://www.iliad-datacenter.fr/infrastructure/connectivite

kdeldycke··on ARMv7 dedicated servers for 3.40 per month
To be even more specific, these CPU are produced by Marvell under the name Armada 370/XP (according /proc/cpuinfo), and are based on ARM's Cortex A9 design (source: https://scaleway.com/faq/server/#-Why-did-you-choose-ARM ).
kdeldycke··on ARMv7 dedicated servers for 3.40 per month
I concur. Rules and rates are summarized here: https://github.com/kdeldycke/vat-rates
