Carhartt has been making clothes to protect hard-working people since 1889. Our team is at the center of consumer data and we work to provide a better experience for the millions of people who interact with our brand. We do that whether we’re partnering with the customer service team, helping the company understand its consumer data, or creating user-facing features.
The team often feels like a startup, we’re always learning and trying to innovate through well-crafted software, and we place a high value on work-life balance. I like to pitch the position as a pleasant mix of backend development and data engineering.

IMO, community curation isn't something that will work very well with music, though I'd love to be proved wrong. Somebody said something about subreddits in another comment, and that analogy seems good. There is also another startup that collaborated with metal musicians and had them build out radio shows, which also seems promising - especially because it's addressing a very specific market.
Also, 20 seconds is way too long to listen to a song that you know you're not going to like from the first couple of seconds.
I dont want to make people sign up for something new just to read my shitty links

I don't know - I kind of figured that was part of the joke - I thought it was pretty clever.
That one popped out to me. Man. Lots to learn.
> Boeing continued to defend MCAS and its reliance on a single sensor after the first crash, involving Indonesia’s Lion Air.
Also...how? So many non safety critical services use a load balancer and at least a couple of servers because who can trust just one thing working perfectly all the time?
3-week releases sounds crazy, but it's still interesting to see how different types of tech companies deal with source control + release cycles.
It would be an awesome place for a startup with all the cheap property and rent.
People here are nicer than anywhere else I’ve ever lived
I miss biking and walking to work. And while thats possible here, it’s not easy to find.
But Detroit’s not an easy city and that’s one of its charms. Heh, though people generally don’t talk about Detroit’s hardships in terms of biking to your tech job.
Prices have gone up a lot in the last 5 years. I think it’ll run at least $2,000 to get an LP pressed. Plus a year wait. Probably half that or so for a 7”.
Depending on the label youre with (theres a ton of 1 person labels), you can split the cost. If theyre bigger, they’ll just pay for it.
