I guess they gave up on that? Would be interesting to hear how it panned out.

Find someone that knows you to talk about this. It's very hard to give specific advice with out knowing your personality or the full story.
Try and remember that your life is much more than your work. There are so many other things worth living for.
Check out http://viewer.tracespace.io for the updated svgerber style viewer.

https://github.com/Jador/react-hyperscript-helpersOur focus in the short term is getting more content up on the site by helping people put things into the right format.
In the long term we definitely want to look at making the links to manufacturing easier and your API looks interesting.
I had a quick glance at the way you take in position data (what are xyyrs though?). It'd be interesting to try and standardize on something there even just to do some helper visuals for DIY builds.
Btw. getting a 404 on this: https://macrofab.com/apidoc/v2/raml.zip
The site is currently compiled to static pages hosted on GitHub and that's where contributions are handled too (through pull requests). We use Node and Coffeescript for the compilation and ES6+React on the front-end.
The first step will likely be to add direct links to the PCB fabs. Assembly would be a step beyond that. I am currently trying to figure out: what are the benefits of an "on-demand" manufacture of open source hardware projects?
You might be able to on Wikis though.
A similar circuit is explained in more technical detail here: http://www.nutsvolts.com/magazine/article/bipolar_transistor... (look for the "WHITE NOISE GENERATORS" chapter title)

The best place to start is probably https://try.jupyter.org/
I had a go at fixing it myself but it seems I couldn't (my PR did get merged but the problem persists) and no one else seems to be trying to fix it so I am thinking of finding an alternative.
The truerss demo doesn't seem to work at all for me though. The page shows up but when I click on a post it doesn't show anything.
I am not interested in hooking it up to the global networks just providing a way for people to earn points for running workshops, cleaning and doing maintenance that they can spend as time on the laser cutter or 3D printer or similar (which we currently charge for).
More importantly most of the scientists want their research to be read and studied as widely as possible but have their careers to worry about. The journal system is being widely criticised but academics are not in the best position to take action against it.
The dissemination of knowledge, with it's potential for reducing inequality and increasing social mobility, is much more important than the profitability of journal publishers and outweighs the risk of hurt feelings due to a sense of ownership of knowledge (which seems like a fallacy in itself) that anyone involved could possibly have.
Furthermore, I am not affiliated with YC and have never been even been to Silicon Valley. I merely use this news/link aggregator because the content and links interest me.
Linking to a site doesn't even mean you are condoning it. Would you really rather the mods censor content like this because they are worried about their reputation? I think that is the day I would stop reading HN.
