karthikv··on Yahoo is Shutting Down Del.icio.us
I imported mine to Evernote a while back. They have an import from delicious tool.

karthikv··on Gift HN: Book Giveaway/Exchange
There are a few sites that already do that, but I've personally never used them.

karthikv··on The Stony Brook Algorithm Repository
There's a wiki that has solutions to the exercises at the end of all chapters. http://www2.algorithm.cs.sunysb.edu/mediawiki/index.php/The_...
karthikv··on Search Google Docs From Within Gmail
Is this the beginning of integrating all personal info stored in various Google products under one search box?
karthikv··on Ask YC: Review my startup
Not sure if it was meant to be this way.. but the design looks eerily similar to facebook's.
karthikv··on Ask YC: What's the most inspiring sci-fi book you've read?
I love 1984. I wouldn't say it was inspiring (its dystopian) but rather an eye-opening experience. It made me change the way I look at security and privacy.
karthikv··on Ask YC: What music do you listen to when hacking?
I think this has been discussed a couple of times here:

karthikv··on Poor People Use Yahoo, Those Better Off Use Google
I disagree that money has anything to do with the service people use.
karthikv··on Run this: python -c "import this"
I think the "other ways" might not always be horrible ideas. It just leads to messy, unreadable code. Of course, its upto the programmer to write readable code.
karthikv··on Run this: python -c "import this"
Python says "There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it."

But Perl says "There's more than one way to do it."

karthikv··on Zuckerberg apologizes for Beacon -- announces a full opt-out
It says it won't "store" those actions sent by the partners. Its not clear if they will "use" that information in any other way.
karthikv··on Is Aaron Swartz the Paris Hilton of Web 2.0?
qwertyy: Did you create a new profile just to post this? Gosh, get a life dude!
karthikv··on Android developer challenge ($10 million in awards)
I meant written in Java. BTW, they have their own VM called Dalvik virtual machine.
karthikv··on Android developer challenge ($10 million in awards)
The only thing that sucks (for me) is the app has to be developed using Java. The SDK does not support native application development yet.

karthikv··on Bountii - New YC Startup
Are you also planning to include ebay results?
karthikv··on Bountii - New YC Startup
Hey John - That explains the results I got. Maybe you should include this information in the homepage. But otherwise I like the way the results are presented and the feeds (Google still doesn't have this).
karthikv··on Bountii - New YC Startup
Search 1: oral-b sonic complete toothbrush Google: http://www.google.com/products?q=oral-b+sonic+complete+tooth... Bountii: http://bountii.com/search.php?item=oral-b+sonic+complete+too...

Search 2: oral-b sonic complete toothbrush head Google: I got 2-3 links to eBay and couple of other sites Bountii: No results found

Search 3: gillette MACH3 razor Google: http://www.google.com/products?q=gillette+MACH3+razor&bt... Bountii: No results found

Edit: I know these searches may not be the most popular searches. But still these are not hard to find products...

karthikv··on Bountii - New YC Startup
The site looks good and does what it says. But I compared a few products with Google Products search (formerly Froogle) and I got more deals from Google than Bountii. Of course, you don't have a large index as Google (yet), but ultimately the question is how is it different from Google Products?
karthikv··on Mint Wins TechCrunch40 $50,000 Award
Just curious: How many of you are willing to give your bank passwords to Mint.com? I'm still scared to give out my most important credentials to a 3rd party. Maybe I'm paranoid.
karthikv··on Walt Mossberg Reviews Dell Ubuntu: "...still too rough around the edges..."
I wonder how Ubuntu will be reviewed by an user who is using a computer for the first time and has no OS exposure of any kind before?? hmmm...
karthikv··on The Character Traits for an Entrepreneur
"I now have enough experience with startups to be able to say what the most important quality is in a startup founder, and it's not what you might think. The most important quality in a startup founder is determination. Not intelligence-- determination." http://www.paulgraham.com/startuplessons.html
karthikv··on Jeremy Zawodny: There is no Web Operating System (or WebOS)
Maybe we should start calling these services as "Web Desktop" instead of WebOS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_desktop
