A whole lot of this probably comes down to the lack of radar or other sensors. And the lack of ability for them to get machine learning with only cameras to perform.
Maybe they should just send the engineering team up far north during the winter and force them to dog food their software to get around. Really it's not the individual engineers fault, it's always crap management.
I wish there were some super cheap sparse data plans that worked out in the middle of nowhere USA. Everything out there want 10K units for get good discounts.
I guess it's Entropia Universe now https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropia_Universe
Also, liability is a never ending hole with the actual PLC. If your web3 capable PLC keeps even 100-500K/Hr of production from running, then people will probably legally come after you.
I've though several time about building a PLC ecosystem taking the best of modern systems. Building up new features to allow the actual equipment manufacturers (OEMs are under-served) to rapidly spin up and manage variants. And enough ecosystem security that at least your production systems won't be ransomwared. But unless there is a wealth person or huge company out there that just absolutely wants to fund it, it's not economically viable (If you are that company or person, contact me).
The dealer networks and middlemen gatekeep the market pretty severely. You would have to essentially hand hold engineers into using it. And you are going to have a hard time selling it to risk-adverse C and D level managers.
That said, I still hate just about everything when it comes to PLC environments.
Copia.io is at least trying to get git going for a market that eschews version control.
The code is pure crap since it was written while figuring out the framework. But easy enough to refactor into something more reasonable.
Now to add OTA updating over bluetooth for an ESP32 device to the app.
Admittedly the person had a ton of experience doing this, so they were probably well worth the money.
Yea, I think that has been done.
How about when Apple gets a NSL or other non-disclosable warrant and searches my phone with this tool? Still no?
Probably going to be a lot of leaked nudes by Apple soon.
So it could be an option (for some people, and maybe not even good), but really unless you can deal with stress and people well it won't go well. I was able to learn to deal with both pretty quickly. And I credit some of that early experience to being able to just dive into projects I know nothing about.
But it can all go sideways pretty quick. I have a feeling that is more common. Plus you don't want to be involved in an investigation.
I don't think this is possible though, I think I read somewhere that the Pi4 PCIE Root doesn't support host<->host comms.
If anyone knows different, speak up!
