I'm the maintainer of DoTenX, a platform to build websites, web apps, APIs, automations, and more.

It's built based on serverless architecture, with isolation between front-end and back-end.

I invite you to take a look and feel free to ask any questions about DoTenX.

kamrani··on Ask HN: Can no-code automation and no-code in general help DevOps?
Can you mention any examples? I'm keen to know. I personally don't use any such tools. I also agree that building any products in the DevOps space where many people are passionate about their DIY solutions is usually not a good idea.
kamrani··on Ask HN: Can no-code automation and no-code in general help DevOps?
Do you see any room for automation?
kamrani··on [dead]
With DoTenX, you can build complex event-driven solutions with no/low-code.

You also don't have to worry about database, authentication/authorization, hosting or deployments.

DoTenX is currently at pre-alpha, available at https://dotenx.com

kamrani··on Ask HN: Would you pay for a service that reduces your cloud costs?
Their recommendations is very basic though.
kamrani··on Ask HN: Would you pay for a service that reduces your cloud costs?
Cloudability is not an option for small companies.

Can you please mention a few of them that are good options in your view?

kamrani··on Ask HN: Would you pay for a service that reduces your cloud costs?
Thanks for sharing the links. Is this something you'd be interested in as well?
kamrani··on Ask HN: Would you pay for a service that reduces your cloud costs?
yup, that can be an option.
kamrani··on Ask HN: Would you pay for a service that reduces your cloud costs?
Always there is competition, but are you willing to use such a service if the pricing is reasonable?
kamrani··on Ask HN: Would you pay for a service that reduces your cloud costs?
There are very basic solutions or some solutions that target only enterprises with hefty bills.

Also, clearly nothing has been good enough that everyone knows about it or uses it.

kamrani··on Stop bleeding money on cloud infrastructure
It's definitely a lot more than just a lift and shift.

The companies are really struggling with managing their costs on cloud.

So far we haven't dealt with a single customer, from individuals to enterprise companies, who has been using their cloud resources even relatively efficiently.

kamrani··on Stop bleeding money on cloud infrastructure
Yes, it's being used by a closed group of customers.

There are 4 questions in the form and the last one is about any questions you might have from us.

Feel free to fill in the form and I'll send you all the details you need to know.

kamrani··on Ask HN: What tool do you use for cloud cost optimisation?
Yup, but you need visibility, specially with categorisation (based on tags, environments, applications), trends and predictions.

Without this it's a tedious, suboptimal job.

kamrani··on A PaaS dedicated to indie hackers and small teams
Thanks for mentioning. This was just a temporary thing, will replace it in a few days.
kamrani··on A PaaS dedicated to indie hackers and small teams
Thanks for the hints. Yup, noticed the T&C needs to be changed.
kamrani··on A PaaS dedicated to indie hackers and small teams
Hey folks,

Me and a few friends have launched PushSee, a PaaS with simplicity, robustness and cost-effectiveness as its main goals.

You can sign up for free now. The paid plans will be available for a limited set of users.

Our platform is mainly targeting indie hackers and small teams. Feel free to ask any question you might have.

If you want to be contacted for early access to the paid plan at a discount price, use "HN" as your organisation at sign up.

Looking forward to hearing your feedbacks.

kamrani··on Ask HN: AWS users, is simplifying AWS a problem worth solving as a startup?
What makes you think it's going to be more complicated if you use ECS behind the scene?

What if I tell you I have a service that is able to do that it takes away all the complexities. You literally need no understanding of the underlying services, you just benefit from its flexibility, and simplicity.

kamrani··on Ask HN: AWS users, is simplifying AWS a problem worth solving as a startup?
Well to be clear, my question was to provide the service on your own AWS account. This way, you'll have access to all those extra services whenever you need them, and at the same time you can benefit from all the simplicity of such a PaaS experience.

The service connects to your AWS account and builds stuff for you in your own account, if it makes sense.

kamrani··on Ask HN: AWS users, is simplifying AWS a problem worth solving as a startup?
Can you be more specific about going niche? I'm keen to see what would be a good example in your mind.
kamrani··on Ask HN: AWS users, is simplifying AWS a problem worth solving as a startup?
Yup, providing same experience as Heroku on AWS.

The reason being it's a lot cheaper (almost by 10 fold in some cases), and easy integration with services like SQS/SNS.

kamrani··on Ask HN: AWS users, is simplifying AWS a problem worth solving as a startup?
So, who do you think benefits from such a service?
kamrani··on Ask HN: AWS users, is simplifying AWS a problem worth solving as a startup?
The main services you use to host your applications, and the core components you need in pretty much every application.

This can mean hosting static websites, applications on ECS, EKS, database, and Redis. Also it includes all the necessary underlying networking set up.

The rest of services are usually provided in their simplest possible form anyway.

kamrani··on Ask HN: AWS users, is simplifying AWS a problem worth solving as a startup?
Thanks, interesting link.

Well, I was thinking more like a platform that simplifies using your AWS account for you.

I know that different people/teams might have different requirements, and simple means different things to them. I'm just trying to understand how much it can be helpful for people to provide such a service.

kamrani··on Ask HN: Cloud vs. Dedicated Hosting
Perfect answer.

We're working on a solution to gives you an experience like Heroku on AWS without breaking the bank, and I'm pretty sure we won't be the only one working on such a solution.

Flexibility of cloud and simplicity and convenience of services like what we're building will boost the speed massively, plus you'll never be concerned about outgrowing the solution as everything is built on top of AWS.

kamrani··on Ask HN: Cloud vs. Dedicated Hosting
It's not fashionable, and it adds real value, but it's definitely costly because you have to spend on operations. I'm working on a solution to gives you an experience like Heroku on AWS without breaking the bank.
kamrani··on Heroku: Core Impact
Heroku *was* fantastic, but for some reason it just stayed where it was for years.

We're launching https://www.utopiops.com, a platform that can be replacement for Heroku on your own AWS.

We support ECS, EKS and static websites. We're working closely with our early users to tailor the services based on their specific requirements.

If anyone is interested in a demo, or a trial happy to provide more details.

kamrani··on I've built an alternative for Heroku on AWS
Thanks for the feedback. I'll fix it ASAP.
kamrani··on Why did Heroku fail?
Cloud has almost completely replaced the old datacenters however still the teams are spending a lot of time and money on managing it.

Heroku solved the problem very well for years but it's very costly and limiting at the same time.

Now it's time to replace Heroku with services that help you use the cloud providers which leads to substantial cost savings.

We're very soon launching https://www.utopiops.com which is an alternative for Heroku on AWS to address this particular issue.
