jverce··on Show HN: The load-bearing vocabulary of Claude
That's most likely what's happening. SNR will constantly decrease as LLM content is so much quicker and cheaper to generate, which makes it more statistically significant, which will make it more "relevant" for future models. A positive feedback basically.
jverce··on DNS Is for People – Not for IT Infrastructure
How would Kubernetes work without DNS?
jverce··on Ask HN: When will managers be replaced by AI?
I have argued with managers and it's so boring and frustrating. At least with an AI I can start a conversation from scratch, or even practice with a locally running instance.
jverce··on Ask HN: When will managers be replaced by AI?
The only reason managers exist is because of their power to fire people. They are essentially clerks that "coordinate" work, as if work needs that much coordination.
jverce··on Ask HN: What will tech employment look like in 10 years?
My bet is that engineers will have to go down, closer to the silicon level. The higher-level stuff will become more and more accessible to the non-tech consumer, so building apps and stuff will no longer require tech-savvy people, everyone will be able to make their own app.
jverce··on Ask HN: What are your personal red flags when you're interviewing at a company?
A dead silent office
jverce··on Ask HN: What are you doing to fight climate change?
I like you, stranger on the Internet
jverce··on Ask HN: What are you doing to fight climate change?
I don't use ChatGPT and don't use cryptocurrency. Those 2 are super inefficient, brute force solutions to problems I don't have.
jverce··on You cannot have exactly-once delivery (2015)
Funny how the author later worked on NATS [1] which supports exactly-once semantics [2].

jverce··on Mozilla lays off 250 employees while it refocuses on commercial products
What does COVID-19 have to do with anything here? They are an Internet company, one would expect they'd be thriving in this scenario.
